Running. Personally I'm not a big fan of running but running for your life its best thing ever. A few hours ago my life was like any other seventeen year olds. Not worrying about the guys chasing you or what would happen if they caught you. But this night everything changed because this was the night I learned it was a Demi-God.
It all started this afternoon on my way home from school. Me and some of my friends where walking when out of know where this guy stopped me. He looked homeless and not exactly sane but then he told me something weird. "You need to leave before they find you. It's not safe for you or others like you."  After that he just walked away. All of my friends thought he was creepy but when they told me that they couldn't understand anything that he said. But I did and I'm not bilingual and they said it sounded Greek or something.
I pushed it out of my mind and headed to work but the weird stuff just kept happening. The sky went from sunny to dark and gloomy and when I got back to my apartment it was broken into. My whole place was trashed but nothing was missing. I decided not to call the cops and just clean up seeing that nothing was gone. It was late and like always with a full moon I couldn't sleep. I haven't been able to sleep on nights with the full moon for years now. I haven't ever been able to figure out why so I just go on walks until morning. Lets just say I know my town pretty well.
While I was walking I ran into the homeless gut again. This time he looked scared and freaked out. And he was breathing really hard like he was just running for his life. Before I could ask him if he was ok a blade came shooting out of his chest. I caught him out of reflex and saw three masked men standing behind him. The homeless guy grabbed my arm with a bloody hand and told me to run with a gurgled voice. My body reacted faster than my mind and I ran.
A blue flash caused me to turn around and I didn't see the homeless guy anymore. All I saw were the three men now coming after me. I started running again but this time adrenaline kicked in and could not only see but feel the woods around me and that's were we are now.
I'm running deeper and deeper into the park woods hoping and praying that they don't find me. As I'm running I hear gun fire and see the bullets hit the trees near me. The woods get tighter the deeper you go so knew that the chances of them hitting be got better on my part. I knew these woods better than anyone and I could tell that we would hit a clearing soon if I didn't change directions. Then something hits my legs and I fell to the ground with a hard thud.
The three men stood in front of me whispering amongst themselves. "Do you think she's one of them?" one asked. "Doesn't matter, she saw too much", another said. They started to close in on me when I closed my eyes and screamed in my head 'No! Please some help me!'
When I noticed that they hadn't done anything I opened my eyes and saw that the trees, roots, and branches had tangled the men up and off the ground. I stared at them in shock then something touched my cheek I nearly jumped out of my skin. I looked up and saw a deer stand beside me. Even here where there is a lot of deer they don't really come up to people let alone touch people.
I got up a little shaky looking around to see if what they hit me with and found a short staff. I picked it put and looked at it and it had weird marking on it. It kinds looked like a dragon but it was really dark so I couldn't really tell. I put in my back pocket so I could look at it later. 'Are you hurt?' I heard. I looked around to see who said it and all I saw was the deer. It walked over to me and I heard the voice again 'Are you injured?' I looked at the deer in disbelief and asked, "Did you just talk?" the deer nodded and spoke again, 'Are you hurt any where?'  I shuttered and said, "N...no I'm fine. How can you talk and how come I can understand you? Who were those men and why did they kill a homeless guy? What is going on here?!?!" I screamed when he didn't answer.
'I will explain all once you are in safety but for now just follow me', he said and started walking. Wanting some answers I followed him deeper in the woods. We came to a stop in the meadow and I sat on the ground waiting. 'You may not believe me because what I am about to tell you your world thinks is only myth. You are a Demi-God which means one parent is human and one was a Greek god. The fact that you can hear me and what you did with the trees before means you are the daughter of Artemis. You asked the something to stop them and the forest helped because Artemis is the goddess of wildlife, nature, and the hunt. I also appeared because I am a stag which is the familiar of the goddess. I am sorry that I am rushing though this but we are still in danger because you did not kill the men attacking you only slowed them down. Now another demi will be here soon to take you to a safe place.', he said quickly.
I looked at him a little confused and scared, "Wait you're not coming?" He shook his head and said, 'No. I must stay and find other who need my help. You can trust him because he is a demi like you and the place where your going is well guarded. They will teach you what you need to know and answer any other questions you may have.' Then the clouds started to turn and twist in the sky. Then I saw one cloud started to come closer and closer to the ground. Once it got to were it wasn't a blur I saw a man on the cloud.
Once he landed he was about to talk when the deer cut him off, 'There is no time to catch up Leon. This girl was attacked and she needs to get to safety because the pursuers are still there just tangled up. It wont take them long to get here.' Leon nodded and turned to me and said, "Come on kid we have to go." He climb on the cloud and helped me on them we floated up and away. I sat on the cloud and just thought about everything that just happened. A few hours ago I didn't even think Greek gods were real but now my mom was one and now I can do some really weird and slightly cool stuff.
A hand on my shoulder brought me out of my train of thought and I looked up at Leon. "I know this is a lot to take in but trust me it get easier," he said with a knowing smile. I nodded. "Sleep," he said, "I'll wake you when we get there." I lay down but before I closed my eyes I asked, "So where is this safe place anyway?" He chuckled and said "Demi-Acadamy"
With that I closed my eyes and wished that this was just a very bad dream.
