So, yeah... I took this a few short miles away from my parents' house. If the fire jumps the river, their house is literally toast. I've got more shots of this fire. It looked like a volcano had erupted, I was photographing the whole valley on fire. It was incredible and scary. Most of my other shots actually SHOW the flames. As far as I know, they STILL don't have this fire under control. It's been a few weeks since I took this. After that night, they closed the road, because there were WAY too many people going up there to watch, and hot exhaust pipes + dried plants on the sides of the road = more fires. So, yeah, I got lucky that I got these shots. Stole dad's tripod for them, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get these in focus at all, even though the fires were BRIGHT. Ok, I'm rambling, must mean I'm tired. Plus I just saw a giant wolf spider run across my ceiling and I ran over and vaccuumed him up REALLY fast. *shudders* I HATE spiders.
