Good to know i wasn't the only one.

though when you think about it, Undertale is about connections too. but in a more hardcore sense(since betrayal kills and genocide)

Wouldn't it be funny or neat to see a mod or such that connects Undertale and Kh? so when sora encounters Player/Frisk/Chara, they sense Someone else inside them?
that or just helps them Save flowey.

For me the water has the meaning of a barrier, and the hand reaching out from above is the player wanting to save them.
But you can't really save Asriel & Chara in the game sadly.
& that's what I wanted to draw :>

Actually, its possible to (in a way) save Chara. When all your friends are saved ( it keeps saying something was resonating in his soul), the dialogue box says someone else needs to be saved. Something else started resonating within THE soul, not HIS soul. After you realize who, you reach out and call THEIR name. Not HIS name. THEIR name. The only other gender ambiguous kid in the whole game. Chara. That's when a memory activates. Most people completely ignore the fact that this memory doesn't belong to Frisk. And Asriel didn't share it with you either. Frisk doesnt know Asriel at all. Chara showed it to you. Its clear this memory has some value to them. Its only then can you save Asriel. (I always wondered.....WHY THE HECK IS HE TRYING TO KILL US?!)
And here's my headcanon for the hug scene: I believe that when Frisk proceeds to hug Asriel, they let Chara possess them momentarily, just to give them one last chance to make it up to their best friend. Why do I hold hold that view? Because we have made Frisk that nice. (And its more heartwarming too.)

So by the end, even if Chara was a bad person in life, through your guidance, they can redeem them self by the end. You showed them that Asriel was right not to hurt the humans, that there is always another way, and in the end, they find peace.....their hate of humanity passes away because of you. Hence, they don't show up in the end. Hate fuels determination, not to mention LV literally distances them from you, allowing them to form as a separate entity (I think...). But with your help, its gone now. They can finally take a break.
