Description Betcha didn't see this coming.

Neither did I.

So my friend is cosplaying Korra for fanime, AM2, and AX this year, and I made a quick witty remark about her needing a Naga to complete the costume.

Oh wait a second, I make plushes.

So I sat down yesterday and starting cutting up some longpile fur fabric to make a nice sized Naga plush, and now she's a delightful addition to my collection.

This is a NO PATTERN plush, so I can't even give you the usual "stop asking me for the patterns, I don't give them out" comments, I literally do not have one. Never did. I started cutting with NO plan whatsoever. This is also the fastest plush I made, being done in just under 15 hours total. Also, it's hand sewn, all of it.

I'm going to make a harness for her so she's got the saddle and everything, but I need the material first. For now, here she is. She's a good 2 and a half feet long, and you can see my 3DS in the picture for size comparison. She's rather poseable, actually, I wasn't going for that but it works well, her back legs make it possible for her to sit, stand, and lay down rather nicely, and her front legs can either stand or be pulled forward to lay.

If you are going to AM2 or AX this year, be on the lookout for a Korra carrying this plush around!

My plushes are not for sale. This and any other questions, Plush FAQs, please read here: [link]

This is amazing! Even more amazing is that there is no pattern and you sewed it by hand! I know how frustrating hand sewing can be and you must be really good at it, because it looks like it was done with a machine. She's beautiful.

That said, in the show, I never really loved Naga's design. The back legs look extremely disproportinate to her heavy, muscular front and look like something should give just by looking at her, but in the show she thrives. I mean, the design either looks rushed or lazy from an artist perspective, I'm not sure which. And this is coming from someone who sucks at human anatomy and has lost the talent to draw animals. Well, I'm just sad because I liked her and love the idea of a polar bear dog, but felt her execution wasn't good.  So I think my point is I'm surprised that she transalates so amazingly well into plush form, especially in your super talented hands. (Literally!)

Anyyyyway, again, great job on your plushy Naga! She's very furry and looks SUPER cuddly!!

Ohmygosh... you sew these by HAND??! That is amazing. I've sewn little plushies by hand for my sisters, but never something this big or so well done. Absolutely amazing.

You have an amazing talent! Hopefully, when I start making plushies, they'll come out half as good as yours do!

So it's done in a etchy style is it? *runs*

Confusion jokes aside the fur on it looks really nice, brilliant white and the face looks docile. It actually reminds me of an old fashioned kind of soft toys which my Grandma has loads of.

And LoZ 3DS want!
