Description
The term "Christian" has taken on many connotations in our modern culture. To some, it's an old grandma that attends a stuffy church every Sunday. To others, it's a religious zealot caught in tradition. And to many, it's a naive idiot who dares to believe in a loving God.
But to me, it's everything. It's love, truth, freedom, joy, and peace. It's LIFE. Life with hope, life with purpose, life with a destination, and life that will never end. REAL life comes only through Christ, who set us free from anything and everything that could ever destroy us- namely our own sin. This world is corrupt and depraved, but in Christ we have a solid rock to stand on- a refuge and stronghold. I am more certain of this than any other thing, and I know beyond all doubt that God is real and that his word is truth.
This life that comes ONLY through Jesus is a free gift for whoever will trust in him. And to shatter another misguided perception, he is so much more than just a ticket to heaven. He's a best friend, a comforter, a guider, and a supporter. Most importantly, he's a Savior, and he loves each and every one of us more than we can fathom. Why else would he suffer a horrifying death to save us from our own self-destruction?
It all boils down to a simple reality, which is that we all have a choice. Those who place their trust in him will be blessed beyond measure and will spend an eternity with him. Those that ignore him or decide against him will spend an eternity without him.
So what will it be?
