I must say you have done an exquisite job on this one! I really love the contrast and texture, especially in it's eyes. Definately an interesting and effective use of scratchboard.

Aww, it even looks soft! This is really great work, Sarah! I absolutely adore it. And of course.. I am a cat-lover.. In fact i am a little unfamiliar with this scratchboard concept, could you enlighten me, please? I get that it is scratching, though.. About matting, I htink it woudl be nice with a thin white one, and a thicker black one. Or even, since this has a lot of white, I have an idea.. a really thin white one around it, then a little bit thicker black around that, and a thin white one again. Does it sound weird?

I understand what you mean about the matting! Cool idea..!
Scratchboard is basically a thin layer of white clay on a piece of masonite, coated in a layer of black ink, so basically, when you use the scratching tools, you are scratching away the black ink layer and revealing the white clay!

You may want to add a bit more relief around the left eye..Other than that. Beautiful.
