Aww, it even looks soft! This is really great work, Sarah! I absolutely adore it. And of course.. I am a cat-lover.. In fact i am a little unfamiliar with this scratchboard concept, could you enlighten me, please? I get that it is scratching, though.. About matting, I htink it woudl be nice with a thin white one, and a thicker black one. Or even, since this has a lot of white, I have an idea.. a really thin white one around it, then a little bit thicker black around that, and a thin white one again. Does it sound weird?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sarahcarter In reply to IT-Hammar [2006-07-20 22:37:58 +0000 UTC]

I understand what you mean about the matting! Cool idea..!

Scratchboard is basically a thin layer of white clay on a piece of masonite, coated in a layer of black ink, so basically, when you use the scratching tools, you are scratching away the black ink layer and revealing the white clay!

I didn't realize what you meant by scratchboard until I clicked fullview. I'm not brave or experienced enough to use those because it's hard to hide mistakes. I'm not a very mature artist.
I especially like the contrast Good Job

Thank you so much!

Have you ever used Clayboard? Basically, it is a white, thin layer of clay over a piece of masonite, with black ink over it. So, by using certain tools, you scratch off the black ink and it reveals the white clay beneath, and that's how you do it!

Oh, and thanks for the
