This watercolor was particularly special. A dear friend of mine asked that I make a depiction of what her anxiety feels like.

The girl we see her is curled up, hiding, shielding herself. Insects creep in toward her (they represent the paranoia she feels). Her heart is pounding, so the heart on the wall produces a lot of blood. It is working hard. Her breathing becomes restricted. Ivy grows around the lungs tightly. There is a door in the back. It is chained shut.

Beside her is the key to the door, though with her eyes closed she will not see it.
