Copic marker practice of Shizu~I don't have very many colors yet, but I tried my best with what I have. ^^

Hello, hello there! I'm here to critique one of your pieces like you asked! ( I know it 's been a while, haha) So first off, I like it! She's a cutie!
The things you could improve on-
Pushing your values, (I know you said you had limited colors so this is for when you get more) you did it in the hair, and in the top part in her dress, don't hesitate to continue that in the green of her dress, her skin and in the sword.
Anatomy-it's pretty good actually, but I wanna say her head is maybe a tad too big, but it's nothing to worry about honestly.
Otherwise this piece is lovely in my opinion. I think it's simplistic, yet elegant!

Yes, I agree on both your points... I am looking forward to when I can afford more colors because I really do like the more vibrant colors like the ones I used in her hair rather than the ones in her dress that are just sort of... blah.Β
Yeah for some reason when I draw heads they tend to be too big so I have to go back and try to make the shoulders broader, ect. xD I'll have to keep working on that and maybe look up a few more tutorials!Β

I'm not very good at doing a critique for "realistic" human characters, but I'll try, because this drawing doesn't leave me indifferent.
Your drawing is very good: your line is fine, clean, no visible burrs. What I appreciate first on your character (and I mean your character, not the drawing itself) is that for a human character, it is more original than the endless characters "Japanese style" which was used to seeing on DeviantArt. This style more "Western" is my faith very welcome!
Having included a photo of your tools (is it felts?) Is pretty significant too! The photo of your tools has also a "retro" look of its colour, I don't know if it's voluntary, but anyway, this is the most beautiful effect!
If I have find a faults, as I must, I would say that the colours are perhaps a little too dull, and that the relief of hair could have been better.

I agree about the colors being on the dull side. Β They actually aren't the original colors I had wanted to do, especially on her dress, but I don't have a wide range of colors yet unfortunately so hopefully I'll be able to get more soon! Β
