Edit 2: Now complete with Tokota related wardrobe!

EDIT: She is now also the handler for my Tokotas! ^^ Eiyu isn't too happy about all the other big dogs roaming around their home now.

I'm trying to get motivated to work on my humans, and this sure did it. ^^ Expect to see more sketches and such of Nita popping up in my gallery. And I want to commission some art of her when I've got the money/ so if anybody knows some good human artists I'd love to start watching them.

I still can't stop smiling over this.

1) Nita's Basic Wardrobe: This outfit is what Nita wears most often. Suited for cold weather. Comprised of a long parka, pants, boots, and gloves. Under her parka is a lighter shirt, much like what Katara wore in the first season of ATLA.
I did design this one myself, but VioletKy spruced it up very nicely. I think it looks so much more complete now.

2) Warm Weather Attire: This outfit is reserved for warm weather, especially when traveling to other parts of the world, particularly the Fire Nation. If she is working, training, or in very warm temperatures she will pull her hair back into a braid or pony tail.

3) Special Occasions: This outfit is meant for special occasions such as wedding and other celebrations, diplomatic visits, or any other situation in which Nita needs to look nicer. ^^ She typically wears her hair up in a braided bun style for this.

4) Travel, Hunting, and Miscellaneous Tokota Related Events: This get up is designed for durability, functionality, comfort, and warmth. The splits in the skirt allow for optimum range of motion and comfort while riding. It is most often worn while on hunting, fishing, or exploration trips, extended excursions into the wild, and some other activities relating to her duties involving the Tokotas in her care.

Eiyu is the polar bear dog gifted to Nita when she began her training as a healer. Eiyu was rather rambunctious as a pup, but grew up to be very protective of Nita, understanding that it was his job to look after her. Because she is often times in dangerous situations when offering aid to others but has not training to defend herself, Eiyu is always on watch. He sometimes takes his responsibility too far and prevents Nita from having a social life. The two of them are the greatest of friends and take pride in their partnership.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

[Summary] Nita is average sized girl with wavy dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. She has a round face with a tall forehead. Generally she wears very simple clothing that only changes depending on the weather, or on the rare special occasion.
[Hair] Nita has dark brown hair that looks almost black until she is next to someone who actually has black hair. It hangs to her chest in soft natural waves that she holds back with two braids at her temples. She likes to let it be loose unless she is working; in that case she will braid it back into one thick braid. Sometimes only part of her hair will get in the way, resulting in a random hastily done braid in a section of hair. This also happens if she is bored or lost in thought.
[Face] Nita has a slightly rounded face with a tall forehead. Her nose is a bit small and has a very narrow point. Large, inquisitive dark blue eyes are her dominant facial feature, rimmed with long dark lashes. Her eyebrows are very expressive, constantly raising and lowering with her moods and expressions. She has light mauve lips, the bottom being slightly too full for the top.
[Build] Somehow curvy in certain places, but lean and almost fragile looking in others, Nita is a small, compact girl. Her arms are the most muscular part of her body since she uses them most while bending. She is usually in the middle of the height range in a crowd, inheriting some height from her father, but also her mother’s slender stature.
[Clothing/Fashion] Most often Nita is found wearing common water tribe clothing- parka, soft pants, and sturdy animal skin boots. When the weather is warmer, Nita sheds her heavy parka and pants in favor of a lighter sleeveless dress and thin leggings. She keeps her elbow length fingerless gloves, but opts for smaller slipper like shoes.

[Scars/Disabilities] Nita very rarely gets scars because of her ability to heal. Small injuries such as cuts and scrapes appear to have never happened, as she can deal with them in a matter of moments. She has a few old scars gained prior to her discovery of her abilities, and one or two from training mishaps that were beyond her skill to heal.
~Right Palm, Age 10: thin pink line from her father’s skinning knife. She cut herself while hurriedly grabbing the knife, accidentally picking it up by the blade instead of the hilt.
~Left Thigh, Age 13: Eiyu jumped up on her and scratched her leg in excitement. The cut was large enough to warrant getting help from another healer, but Nita insisted on leaving enough to heal on its own so a scar would form, seeing it as a bonding moment between her and her companion. Since that day, Eiyu has never scratched her again.
[Accessories] Though she is not very fond of too much adornment, Nita takes pride in simple things. She will sometimes put beads in her braids and wears a necklace with one of Eiyu’s teeth on it. He lost it as a pup and she decided to keep it. Her most important item is the canteen of water she keeps with her at all times.

PERSONALITY/ATTIUDE

Nita was always thoughtful and mindful of others feelings as a child, something she learned from watching her parents. The pair were always the first to offer assistance to anyone who needed it, no matter if they could afford to or not. Helping others came naturally to her, but became even more important when she started her training. She learned that if all you can give an injured person is a few kind words or a comforting smile that may be all they need.
Eiyu also taught her to extend this kindness to animals. If she has the ability to, it isn’t uncommon to see Nita doing her best to heal random penguins in the wild, or visiting the animal trainers to check up on the animals.
[Passionate]
Every emotion Nita feels is very strong, which can sometimes affect her bending. However she only shows it when she is around people she is close to, namely her parents and Eiyu. In moments of tension or quiet, she sometimes forgets herself and will say things very powerfully albeit quietly, but only when in the company of small numbers. This does not apply when it comes to her duties as a healer; the people who see Nita at her most passionate are usually her teachers and patients.
[Light-hearted/Playful]
Throwing snowballs, with or without the aid of bending, is one of Nita’s favorite things to do. She will often times sneak attack others, but always makes sure they know it was done in good humor; it’s all fun and games until another bender decides to freeze her to the side of someone’s house. Nita is usually perceptive about other people’s feelings and makes it a point to reduce tension. She isn’t the best at telling jokes, but loves to smile and offer a hug or listening ear to whoever needs it.
[Forgetful]
Even though she spends most of her time training and tending to others, everyone needs a break. Sometimes Nita will take off on Eiyu, and spend the day away from the village totally forgetting her responsibilities. At least once a month she will come home after dark, finding her parents awaiting her return with furious expressions. Her explanation is usually something along the lines of
“I’m so sorry. I lost track of time.”
“I was just riding with Eiyu and forgot what I was doing”

“It slipped my mind.”

Nita believes in always pushing herself to do better, no matter the task. She strives to improve her skills as a bender, paying close attention during all of her lessons. Her greatest wish is to be able to do something more with it, even if it is against the rules. Watching benders spar is absolutely fascinating to her and she longs to be able to do what they do.
[Secretive]
Nothing is worse than oversharing in Nita’s opinion. She doesn’t need to know absolutely everything about everyone, and doesn’t think anyone needs to know absolutely everything about her. She comes by being vague quite naturally because of this, something that irritates her parents to no end, especially when she comes home from her accidental day trips. It comes in handy when she tries to hide the fact that she wants to get more out of her bending than just healing.

Prologue
Tikaani was born graceful, or so her mother says. When she grew up she was one of the lucky few girls given the opportunity to do something other than heal with her bending- she danced with her water. As she grew more skilled, Tikaani often preformed at the palace along with her peers, entertaining the Chief and his family as well as whatever guests they may have had. It was during one of these performances that she first met Arrluk.
Though his father wanted nothing more than for his son to follow in his footsteps as a palace guard, Arrluk had not inherited the gift of bending. Of course it didn't make him any less strong or determined, in fact it may have made him more so, but Arrluk's heart belonged to a far calmer occupation- baking. Providing food for the Tribe brought him great joy, especially when he got to see the faces of the people enjoying whatever delicacies he had prepared. He loved to go to the palace during banquets and parties for just this reason. Arrluk also loved watching the benders who entertained the guess, but one in particular always caught his eye.
During that fateful banquet, Tikaani managed to lose her balance, something she'd never done as long as she could remember. Fortunately for her, a certain baker had been watching her and was close by, close enough to catch her when she fell. Arrluk was rendered speechless, suddenly face-to-face with the girl he'd admired from afar.
Birth/Childhood
A year passed in a blink for the pair. In that time they were married and welcomed their first and only child, Nita. They gave her the name, hoping it would lend her strength in her life. Nita was a very quiet child, up until the time she discovered her bending at least. After that she was almost constantly shoot streams of water at anyone who passed by, though her mother was usually able to redirect it. When Nita was seven, she began preliminary training with her mother, learning to control herself and bond with the water. After her first two years of training, Nita began going with Tikanni to the palace, doing very short and simple performances.
She enjoyed herself immensly, mostly because she got to work with her family. However, Nita couldn't shake the feeling that she was meant for something else; she shoved the thought away for years and focused on learning the most entertaining and creative ways of bending.
Adolescence
When Nita turned thirteen, she made the decision to train as a healer, instead of becoming a palace entertainer like her mother. She expected her parents to be disappointed, but was relieved to find that they were actually proud of her instead. It wasn't long after that they brought home one of the pups of a nearby neighbor's polar bear dog. Nita took an instant liking to the pup and named him Eiyu meaning 'hero', knowing that her parents intended him to be her protector. Though she was already a skilled bender, at least in terms of entertaining, Nita struggled with healing at first. It took many years of concentration and practice for her to be proficient enough to do anyone any good.
When she reached the age of sixteen, she waited fearfully for her parents to tell her who she was supposed to be marrying, but thankfully the news never came. She continued her training, growing ever more adventurous every day.
Adult
Nita now spends her time wandering the village, working with sick and injured people as well as animals. Eiyu is her constant companion, keeping watch for danger where ever she goes.

Batshade stood just inside the shadowy cover of the pine trees, his blue eyes narrowed to slits as he looked out to the open field of yellowing grass that grew just beyond the border. Though he wouldn't admit it to most cats, he found the idea of being so out in the open uncomfortable to no end; being so exposed had no appeal to him whatsoever. Unfortunately for him, his better nature and decent sensibilities took over, driving him to the border for a lesson with Spiderbite. Thinking of the predicament the little she-cat was in know brought back the memories of his own sudden advancement, something he hadn't expected for many, many seasons. His situation had been a bit different however; while Spiderbite had been apprenticed as a medicine cat for barely two moons, he had had nearly four seasons' worth of training to rely on at the time. His own apprentice, the third he'd had, had more training than her.
It's like Autumnwhisper all over again. Batshade though to himself. With a slight ache in his heart, he took a deep breath to gather his resolve then stepped forward with one white splattered paw, his dark fur no longer able to latch onto shadows to hide him as he made his way towards the border.
