Sound good and is see that Trigg is worth a visit for a glimpse of classic Aussie beach lifestyle and is a laid-back suburb without the bells and whistles - so no towering units, hotels or shopping centres.

Yes totally, not yucky like the gold coast. Very laid back and not highly developed actually Perth is really a small town than a city I think, I use to like the place till the mining boom made every things so over priced!

Small town - don't like your idea of small I looked on Google Maps yesterday and words like huge, enormous, massive, colossal, gigantic sort of sprang to mind.

I suppose I meant in comparison to most cities Perth is pretty small mainly a suburban sprawl

I meant to say a very large town but yes it is a city its really the mentality that gives me the feel of a large town. We are pretty starve of a lot of things you get in cities for example culture we don't even have a decent museum. The government gives us a Ferris wheel on the river and thinks that will fix years of being starved of so much!! When I went to Sydney I realised that Perth is a small place with not much to offer I didn't care about that as much when it was a cheep and sleepy city but now its so expensive leaving here is a good investment.

What you describe is typical of most places and you have to make your own personal choice of what you want as an individual

My personal choice is peace, quite and wide open spaces, and you can't get that in a town or city so I live out of town and in a small community in the country.
Because I live in the country you forgo many aspects that townies and city folk take for granted like shops, hotels, restaurants, museums, theatres, shows etc.
I like nothing more than going to see a good musical or stage show but they take years to get this end of the country. Therefore we go to the show! The show maybe miles away down in London but we make the trip. In fact we are away for a week just before Easter. We will go South and visit family and friends and take in a couple of stage shows during that visit. London is only a hour by train from where we stay but it is the 500 plus mile drive to get where we stay is the hard bit, but we do have fun while we are down.

I too choose quiet wide open spaces I stay out with family in the country to get a tranquility fix every now and again as I do sometimes find it hard to cope with the constant feeling of zero privacy and space. I enjoy some perks of being in the city every now and again going to my fav Korean BBQ restaurant and indulging in warm sake but its not enough for me in the end I dream of my little farm and being able to step out my front door and not seeing any people I must sound like a very anti social person . Sounds very nice going to London and experiencing the theater you sure have it sussed enjoying the best of both worlds

Good to hear you get the occasional 'tranquillity fix' in the wide open spaces, yuk living in town all the time would do-my-head-in, the noise. Where I live you notice noise because it is so quiet - just the way I like it. I don't mind opening by door and seeing people, as long as they are quiet
Korean BBQ and sake sounds tasty, in fact very tasty, but I love cooking anyway and am quite happy to knock up some scrumptious dish to suit our taste for the day. Yeh, retirement is hard work and you have to put in all this effort to sort out how you are going to enjoy yourself

I don't like seeing people so much, I have had sickos staring through my windows and 3 attempted brake ins which totally pisses me off!! My dog certainly earns her keep that's for sure. I'm big on personal space not any to be had around here but it could be worse I could be in a flat.
I love cooking for my family and friends not a bad cook had heaps of experience in hospitality. But as a Mum cooking every night having someone else do it is always appreciated

Attempted breaks in would freak my misses out, that's for sure. Been in the same village for 26 years, 22 of them in the current house, and never had a single problem in all that time. Lucky, very lucky. I suspect the dog would probably lick them to death rather than do any serious damage, but they are a good warning sign that's for sure. Daily cooking can be a pain but I enjoy it anyway and I always want to try something different even with simple dishes. I could cook you something but it would be cold by the time it arrived

Yep I never had any break in attempts in the country either. Just recently had someone try to break into my car damaging it in the process it just never seems to stop My dog Lulu is a rescued dog and had been abused so shes not big on strangers. Any intruders would probably get a nasty bite And it would serve em right too! But she is soft with friends and family really a loyal dog.
thought that counts
