Hi, What kind of paper did you use for this?. The blending or layering looks so smooth with lots of great detail in it.

Do you use Photoshop? If you use "levels" , you can bring back all the details. I don't know much about scanners, but the ones I have used have all made the scanned drawings paler and blander than it was originally. I think it's just the way it works because it's exposed to strong light when scanned.

I edit contrast and saturation (and a few other things) in Paintshop. It's quite similar to Paintshop i think.
Yeah everything I scan is pale compared to original work. It's ok when I scan pencil drawing, it can be fixed later but scaners (at least mine) hate some colors. Oranges and yellows are often turned to dirty browns for example. So most often I turn to photography instead. It has it's own problems but much fewer. Most important is lighting. Doing photos outside during partly clouded day works best for me

OK, I don't know about color scans. I never used paint shop, but in Photoshop hue/saturation you can choose a specific color range and change and/or saturate it, but it does often look bad because there is so much hidden colors in everything, so it can look psychedelic and to digital, but it could be worth looking into if this feels like a big problem. If you dive into it, you might get the control you want

Hi, I'm so sorry for the late reply. Been trying to catch up with notes and everyone in the group. I know exactly what you mean about scanners. Mine is the same way. It's so hard to upload traditional work.
It seems the uploaded computer version never looks as good as the original.
I just bought a set of the polychromos. I haven't done full drawings with them yet. What practice I've done with them. I absolutely love them best out of all my colored pencils. I agree that the quality of the pencils makes a big difference but it takes the artist's skill to make them do their job.

Your very right. You would not believe some of the things I've used in my projects. lol.
I do have the prisma premier, prisma verithins, and Derwent colored pencils and a few lesser brands, but I find my self very partial to the polychromos. They are fast becoming my favorite to work with.
Verithins I think are great for fine detail and animal fur. I didn't like the prisma as well as I blend rather than layer in my work. So I think it depends on the particular project your doing, your own style of shading and stroke technique which ones work the best for any given project.
I even mix all my different brands at times.
