Wondered what it would be like to draw leather. Don't really want to do it again. Ever.

Used:
- mechanical and monolith graphite pencils (B+)
- A3 paper
- paper stumps
- erasers (regular, pencil)
- paper tissues
- time: tried counting hours this time- somewhere around 25 hours total
- reference photo (all credits to the photographer and Zachary etc.)

You create remarkable works. Would very much like to know how you are achieving the depth in your blacks. They do not look like graphite, are you adding nero pencil or some other medium?

No, i don't use anything extra. It's just very soft graphite (sometimes even 9B)and after i take a photo of the drawing to post here, i use a little photoshop to remove the shine... to make the image look as close to the drawing as possible.

But truthfully, I've been thinking of quitting pencil portraits and starting doing digital work. That would be a... good idea, right? Seeing your gallery among all the wonderful digital artists is just mouthwatering and I wish to be able to do magical artwork like yours someday.

3B mech pencil.
And I always touch those drawings up in photoshop by adding contrast etc (to make them look more like the original drawing), after i've taken a photo of them... because the light always reflects in wrong places while photographing.
