The setting reminds me when i went on a hike in a mountain in Maine with my family...... Maybe this little guy actually lives there! Should've searched harder.
Not just this but the gryphon must have originated from a bug cuz its got 6 limbs, arms legs and wings.... but nobodies found a bug with a back bone yet -_-
plus all the extra limbs are pretty heavy so it wont be able to fly unless there hallow so it those bones are gonna break easily if it spends half of its days walking... IM SURE THE GRYPHON STILL LIVES SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD!

What I love about this piece is the -- uh -- archival/empirical quality(?) of it.Β I am reminded of the pieces John James Audubon painted during his career (y'know, the guy the National Audubon Society is named after?).Β That is to say, I could totally see this in some sort of scientific nature journal that describes this fascinating new creature in detail.
