*EDIT* I finally got this back, so here's a better photo. It still sucks, though
This is this terms art Project, all done with watercolours and some pencils. My second ever real attempt at watercolours.
The theme was Differences - I also put in a few 'hidden message' type things as well.

the dragons are great! two different ones - but the layout and landscape is fantastic as well - looks great

I pretty much like the design of the dragons and the lighting and environment is really nicely done too.
Of course, the photo of the work could be a tad better, but I know it's hard to take decent photographs of paintings in general. How long did this take to be finished, by the way?

You're very right about the photo quality, it bugs me every time I look at this. As soon as I get a better camera and the right lighting I fully intend to take a much better shot C:
I think this took about three weeks-ish. I was in school and exam studying at the time so painting was a bit sporadic. Planning it out took about a week before that, to.

My idea was the sword would symbolize a broken will/ courage of the Past/ Mythology in the face of Science and Technology. C:

Um...I need to know what the hidden messages are otherwise its gonna keep me up at night which will make me get up late which will make me late for school which will make me stressed and tired which will make me snap at the kids I work with which will get me fired which will make me poorer then I already am which will end the world. So...I need to know!

I'll answer as best I can, though I think arts better interpreted with ones own ideas, and this was my first attempt to consciously include them.
Mine were these: The Nano(mecha) dragon and the natural dragon represent technology vs nature, and also a subverted cast of myth vs science
The broken sword and the upturned clay bowl represent a broken will of the natural/ mythological take, and the domineering attitude for progressive change, the degrading wall also represents this
Basically I wanted to show a little of the difference between past and future technologies and aspects of their attitudes.
I hope that makes some sense, probably sounds a bit silly, though.

The rocks actually turned out to be one of the best things to paint. I had a lot of fun with them xD
I also had reference pictures, they helped a lot to.

I DID get that hair-tear feeling when painting the blue dragon though.
I never did get it the right anatomy and colour I was after.

xDDD Nomad?? Well, for the past two weeks, I've had exams, so I've only been at school for the exams.
Other than that I'm usually in the music room C:
