Description I love this shot. At first when I did it, I shot it in color. I like it way better in Black and White.
I'm not too sure how the trees work in the photo or if they are too pixelated. I'm hoping the detail is showing a little bit better in B&W than color.

Though I haven't seen the original color photo of this, I have to say I'd probably prefer it in black and white. Not only does it keep your attention pulled to the center without any distracting colors, it gives off an old time feeling to it. One thing I would suggest is maybe if you could up the contrast a little to bring out a little more of the black and white feel rather than gray scale. Second would be if there was something you could stand on to get over that bush a little bit more, to catch what looks like a basement window. other than that I really like it. I wouldn't cut out the shrubbery too much, it adds to that old sort of abandoned feel it gives off. Especially the way you have things hanging and brush all over like it's unkempt and over grown. The only thing that'd add to this at all would be if you had something crawling up the sides, but that's not in your control of course. Also, I notice that the roof looks older, a new roof always takes away from the feel for me, so even if it's not older, doesn't matter too much, it's what I see that matters. I also like the way it seems to be missing window panes. I don't know if it is or not, just looks that way to me. Thank you for the critique Tori!
A colored of the house just different standing point-[link]
I'll have to give the more contrast a try. I'm still playing around with it though. But thank you again. New roofs kinda lose me too. What makes it old and abandoned? If it looks new, how can it be aged?
I wish there was some kinda vine going up the wall. It would look really cool like that. I know in the summer time, there should be lilac trees right at the house *the huge ones that tell it's over 70-100 years old grown* I'm waiting for that shot for sure.
Thank you again for the insightful critique! It's fair!

Yes, I like this one more in black and white
And the lilac trees, I'm not sure if color or black and white would go better. Perhaps simple color select, where just the lilacs are colored would look pretty? Depends on the picture Good luck.

You're welcome

I like it in B&W too.
I'm gonna try an HDR when they come in and see how that looks.
Thanks!
