This is actually a digital piece.
I've been playing around with layer stacks, that usually start out as one or two photographs & adding a variety of different effects to each version. i then take each image and go through a process of both fading and deleting ranges of color, after which i take the opacity down to about 25-40%.
after that, I usually have anywhere between 15 and 30 transparencies & rebuild the image by stacking the layers. The outcomes vary quite a bit, and sometimes this process yields some really surprising effects.
