Description This map is the result of the Hungarian revolution of 1848 are successful. This leads to Galicia and Dalmatia declaring themselves independent. Piedmont-Sardinia, spurred on by nationalist sentiment, declares it's intent to unify the Italian states and merges with all northern Italian states and later seizes all of papal territory excluding Rome. During this Bohemia and Venetia also succeeds from the Austrian Empire. This proves to be the straw that breaks the camels back, as Austria, now without half or her entire military to fight the war finally admits defeat. The Piedmont-Sardinia annexes the Kingdom of Naples, the newly independent Venetia now called Veneto, and the rest of the Papal State, forming the Kingdom of Italy. During all this Frederick William IV accepts the title of German Emperor at the Frankfurt Parliament leading to a united German Empire. Later the Crimean War starts and without Austria, the British and French fight much more viciously. The war ends with Britain annexing Crimea and the islands of Hiiumaa and Saaremaa. Wallachia and Moldavia merge to form Romania.

In short, Hungary becomes independent, every other country in AH does as well, and German and French empires exist at the same time.

Edit: redid the map to make it look better.

Wait. So this leads to Prussia uniting Germany AND Napoleon III assuming power ahead of schedule?

Have considered drawing another alt history where the central powers would've won WWI?

Yes I have. And another one in which Russia is Germany's main ally instead of Austria. Right now I have all sorts of ideas brewing but I'm trying to find the motivation to do them.

That is a great idea. Um I don't know what you mean by which Russia is Germany's main ally instead of Austria, do you mean like a German-Russian Empire? Or like Austria is the defender of the Balkans?

I mean like Russia is a member of the Central powers instead of Austria. So you have a WW1 with German, Russia, Italy, Serbia, and Romania on one side and Great Britain, France, Austria and Belgium on the other. Though that war will be much shorter then OTL.

A alternate history doesn't need to follow historical facts. And technically Hungary did own Transylvania. And when the original revolt did take place the Hungarians tried to take all of the Hungarian Kingdom with them.
And besides the whole thing is fantasy.

This is not a historical accurate map. K. of Bohemia, K. of Galicia and K. of Hungary doesn't exist ! There is only the Habsburg(Austrian) Empire and later Austria-Hungary. But all those states that u've drawn...most of them weren't independent until 1918.

That's because it's an alternate history map.

Anyway, the southern part of K. of Galicia, is a romanian land called Bukovina, and it should be that way, even in a alternative history map !
And that Big Hungary map, is again unreal even for a alternative history map. Transilvania was a independent Grand Duchy, and it was by force annexed to Hungary in the 1860's or so.
So if the 1848 Hungarian revolution would have been succesfull, the independent territory of Hungary would be composed by,present day Hungary, a part of Croatia, Slovakia, Vojvodina (in Serbia) and the austrian district of Burgenland.
That, if u wanna respect a lill' bit historical facts, even in a alternative history map !

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

We have an similar Scenario in debate(in AH.com who become a war between the Italian Wankers and the Habsburg defenders....) but if the Magyar Success in the Revolution, the Pangermanist lobby will have a bost to Include the Austria Empire(or the 'Rump' one in this scenario) in the German Empire, and that Include Both Austria and Bohemia(the deutches in bohemia will means a lot of problem for both germans and checzs), and the rest (except Hungary), become realm in Personal union(beside Dalmatia, under Magyar control) .That can be the idea for another scenario...(check Decades of Darkness)

Another good map, you're make very good maps.

Thanks, and personally this is one of my earlier maps so I believe that I would have altered some minor things if I had done it today.
