Woohoo, finally finished. .-. Zao Min (or Jiu Mun in Cantonese
) from TVB's Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre. Original character played by Gigi Lai. No, this is not a portrait of her, because... I can't draw portraits. 
Kinda satisfied, but her face still looks a bit weird, so criticism will be appreciated.
Total time spent = face > Hair (17 braids, geez ._.) > Beads (the ones on her hair) > Jewelery/clothing > Background/Additional timbits. (Yes, I don't know how to spell.) Most time on her face, least on the background, if you couldn't figure out the random... equation/inequality. O_o (Yay, Math.)
Total time spent... err.. a week... maybe about 1.5 - 2.0 hours a day.
So yeah, have fun criticising and nit-picking, and... ripping it apart if you wish.

there's something going on with her hand, I think it's the pinky that needs some work there, and the neck looks a bit too long....but other than that it's very pretty. Her face is lovely

Very good detail. Your art really reminds me of Japanese/Chinese style paintings, especially the old, traditional watercolors. Her expression is lovely, her hair is great, the beads and the lace are wonderful.
You may need to work on your fabric folds. They're a little too blurry looking here. They should be a little chrisper. And the hand holding the barette is a bit too thick and a bit too long for her fingers.
But it's a lovely piece.

very nicely done, i love the hair.. the only thing that bothers me, is the little sideburn (if that's what it is lol) it looks so wispy compared to the rest of the hair.. but other than that, the rest of the piece is magnificent

The only thing I can see wrong with it is that sideburn and how the earing is placed too low in the ear.

This is very lovely work. I just love the way you draw hair, really. It's so plain and simple and soft, and I can see the sort of style you're going for. The eyes are very nice, too, they're my favourite part.
In the face area, it's true you could use a little improvement. I think her eyes express a more calm happiness, where her lips are just a silly little smile. I think you could tone that down a bit, and maybe look at how other artists who draw in a style you're going for draw lips.
Another large problem I see in this is your shading. You define things wonderfully, and your shading is in all the right spots, but never ever use black to shade, under any circumstance (well, unless the object you're shading is black). Also, I can see you're possibly going for a realistic look in the shading, which doesn't suit the style of the hair and face, and I don't think suits your personal style at all. Try something a little more simple, smooth, clean.
I do love the thing on her head though. I think accessories like that is where you need to focus your realistic look; they accentuate certain things, in this case the hair.
Another area that could use improvement is her hairline. She's got kind of a Wolverine thing going on with the sideburns, I think those could seriously be toned down and faded more. Also, I wonder what her hairline would look like if it were a little more defined, and not so soft like it is now.
Overall a very pretty piece; I love the simple background.

that is flipping wonderful!!!!! i agree with shinyobjectgirl, the face is a bit flat.. and were the hair meets the face; kinda looks 'ape-ish' if you know what i mean.. Maybe instead of smoothing the hair into the skin, smooth the skin into the hair?? BUT apart from that, its is absolutey BRILLIANT!!!!

This is a very beautiful picture. If you wanted to change something...I think her face looks a bit flat, you could try bringing in some more contrast, also I think the facial proportions are off slightly (eyes too big? something doesn't feel right...). I love the way you rendered the hair though. Nice!

I don't see anything wrong with her face; however, I think her hand bulges out a little too much on the left; perhaps it should taper down a bit more, as it slides into the wrist area? Also, her shoulders seem slightly uneven, with one being lower than the other.
