Right now if I go 4 days without a deviation I'm going to go crazy -__-; Anyways here is Hiyoshi. He's the son of one my past D&D characters Momo (a dwarf) and his father is an angel named Ryell ( He looks just like his father *ww*) and acts like him too >_>;... Hiyoshi is on his own quest to find a relic powerful enough to make him a full angel like his father. He may look like he's 9 yrs old but he can life up to 900yrs maybe even thousands of years if he becomes a full angel.(and always remain youthful).As for the picture there are too many things wrong to count. -__-; What an uninspirational background, what's wrong with me *~*. Coloring bleeding as usual and the clouds looks like plastic o_o; good grief.. when I'm going to do something satisfying one of these days. Now to await the comments of my critics ^_^-

It's beautiful, just as always Momo, and he resembles his father so much in this picture, it's scary. XD You're actually getting a lot less "cartooney" with your coloring and it looks more "real" (general terms, sue me) and it's a big and nice change. More like this?
And Momo, you know you can call me anytime. I'll pick up if I'm not working.

That's a great background! The mountain is lovely and the level of detail and choice of colour complements the character beautifully. The green of the trees goes with his tunic, the red of the earth with his skin and belt. I like the dragon too.
I like the pose, expression, 'baggy' shorts and hair. He looks very determined -- to reach his goal and become an angel perhaps? (It does sound a bit ToS-ish, but I gather becoming angel in not a Good Thing(tm) in that universe). His man made me think of Temari from Naruto.
The only criticism I really have (aside from the biggish thumb) is the 'flares' -- they're more distracting than anything in my opinion.

I think the background looks great! I don't see anything "uninspirational". Really. The only part of the background that needs improvement is the sandy part right behind Hiyoshi. It looks like it could be blended just a bit more. Everything else looks phenomenal, though.
Nice work on Hiyo-kun, too.

i think it looks quite nice and i found it to look like a paint effect which makes it smoothe in some areas. the clouds are soft and the character DOES look very young. this is a nice piece of work if you asked me, which you didn't, but you get my meaning.

"What an uninspirational background, what's wrong with me" ... good question. what is wrong with you? can't you see that this picture is absolutely gorgeous?
the background is NOT uninspirational, it's a work of art. if you blend the colours into each other slightly more and give the dragon's legs a more interesting position then i'd say that this background was practically perfect.
as for the character, the hand could be a bit smaller, but frankly i think it's fine because i only noticed it was disproportioned because i read your comment to the picture. Hiyoshi's hair could have a little more colour to it, taking note of the colour of the sky, it would surely leave some sort of orangey sunset/rise shadow on his hair, i think you've done the clothing highlight well though, good colour choice.
don't be so hard on yourself - you know i always point out every detail to a somewhat 'nitpicking' degree, but i can't really suggest anything other than what i have. it's beautiful, the character is cute and the background is perfect - i can't see any of those plastic clouds you were on about and i truly love the colours you chose for the mountain. this is a

this is great, i think your being to hard on yourself. OK, yes the hand is a little big, but you can always scale it down. I have a hard time getting proportions right sometimes. your freaking out over small things, just breath and relax.

I think it's cute and I love the concept. Yea his hand is a bit skewed but it's mostly a matter of proportion, i think. If you scale his hand down that'll probably fix most of it. might want to work on a smoother (did I spell that right?) transition as far as the color on his hair goes. just the top part though.
other than that I think it's well done. looking forward to your next piece as well.

and for the record I can't find the plasticy look in the clouds. it just looks very layered which i think from the angle of the viewer would be normal. *shrugs* maybe that's just me

Nice picture though, yet reminds me a bit of Link from Zelda, but with no sword and a very big dangerus fan. I like the background plus the dragon.
All in all creativity and everything, I hate to rate it like this an 9 out of a 10.

Nice job on the Character and i love the little dragon in the b/g. As for the b/g don't worry about how plasticy you think it looks. Because even looking like plastic it still rocks in my opinion.
