Whoosh! Becky gave one final twirl of her weapon and the mighty Hobgoblin King came crashing to his knees.“I-Impossible!” he hissed, wincing as he lifted his head from the ground in pain. “How can such a little girl carry such a big hammer?”
“Easy,” Becky replied, with a big grin on her face. “With two hands.”

This is K-kun’s character, Becky. You guys know how I have a thing for pigtails.
The only thing I’m not happy with is the background. I’m not use to doing forest settings. I’m working on an entry for another contest, so hopefully I can get more practice with it. The more you practice, the more you improve

This is AWESOME! Your drawing of her is incredible, and the small story along with it makes it so much more comical! The hair, the eyes, the pose, everything... It's awesome! Oh, how lovely! You have such an adorable style. Her expression is so lively and the coloring style matches the scheme very nicely. I esp. like the sense of lighting with this one -- it really brings out the texture of her hammer and the clothing.
Actually, I rather like the background. The forest/mountains are there, but they're simple. I also like how it's more blurred, because it puts more of the focus on the subject, rather than the backdrop, and that suits this picture very well, I think.

The background was a nice touch, too! I'd be happy making backgrounds like that because it still makes the viewers focus on the drawing of the character. My backgrounds are random and whatever.

Oh, do you know of any really good colouring and/or oekaki tutorials I can look at? I've been searching everywhere for something that will teach me where to shade and whatnot, but no luck.
