I drew this as a present for a very dear friend of mine. When we were younger we bonded over our common love of Pokémon and obsessed over the manga together, so I made her a nostalgic piece of her favorite protagonists from the series, Red and Yellow. I wasn't quite sure initially if I wanted to draw Ratty and Kitty in their final or first evolutions, since I drew Red's Pokémon in their first evolutions for sentiment, but I decided since Ratty evolved so early on and Kitty was used so much to fly that they felt more fitting in their final evolutions. The background I referenced from page 35 Volume 4 of the Pokémon Adventures manga. XD
