Description So this one is kinda personal. A little bit of a "thank you" to Cry. Just went through a rough patch in life, lost someone I love dearly, stress piling on me with work, school, and an internship, and I kinda felt like I was breaking. So I did what I do best in these times: write abstract poetry and draw. And listen to Cry read. Those stories soothe my soul with how gentle he reads like you wouldn't believe.

So I do hope you enjoy this little bit of how I feel.

I can understand this. My family has gone through our fair share of hard times financially and are still currently going through them, I've nearly lost a friend a few times and school plus having to find a part-time job stressed me out but watching Cry or even just listening to him always helped, just like how it helps you. It's quite soothing and even though a lot of what he reads can be scary since he's just so good at voice acting, listening to his Cry reads videos while falling asleep is still quite soothing.

--

So even if you do or do not see this; I thank you Cry for just being you. I thank you for doing what you're doing even if you didn't have to and despite all the demands I'm sure you get, or all the pleas for attention; despite how hard that may be for you to handle sometimes. I really do appreciate what you do; it's helped me through a lot. And, if I never watched your videos, I probably would never have found the one person I consider a sister, someone I'm the closest too, even though we're not even in the same state. So thank you, really. And no matter what happens -- if you're still making these videos in 10 years or not -- I'll continue to support and respect you. <3

I'm sad that you understand this so well, since a majority of it is sad, but I'm glad that you find comfort and help the same way that I do, by listening to his reads.

And that message to Cry was very well said and wonderful. Wish the best for you friend. (:

I love this picture and poem, I feel this way a lot. Everytime he reads, I just get absorbed in the story, and then lulled to sleep. Hearing him just talk about anything in a calm manner relaxes everyone and makes us laugh as he gets scared or rages at the game... or gets drunk. xD While I have found another youtuber that helps me get to sleep from hearing him sing, Cry is still one of my top favorites for just about anything.Β

And I'll always thank Cry for taking the time to entertain us all, as it not only helps us, but helps him in trying to get over his fear. It's just sad that many of the fanbase never thank but demand so much from him.Β

-------------------------------

So... I thank you Cry, I don't really want an answer from you as its not important to me to get a reply, but to let you know, I will always thank and support you. You're so much stronger than you realize, it takes great inner strength and courage to stand firm under the onslaught of demands, whining and fussing you get everywhere you turn to. You could have easily said, 'Fuck it all' and quit but you haven't so far and that I respect. Hell, I would respect you regardless if you quit or not, it is your choice.Β

Thank you, Cryaotic, for being there for us even though many are not there for you.

I think the best parts about when he reads is the fact that not only is his voice soothing to the ear, but the way he reads, it's like I'm either in the story or watching it as if I'm right there, but with the scary stories, I'm not so scared because he's reading. That helps me fall asleep, which is not an easy task to do, because unless someone I hold dear is in the room with me, I either have the worst time falling asleep or staying asleep, having nightmares if I manage to fall asleep, or just don't sleep at all and wait for the morning to come. But if I put on my headphones and play one of his videos (I think Ickbarr Bigelsteine is one of my favourites), I'll actually have a good night's sleep. It's wonderful. And I'm glad he does this and more, despite the fact that he has an introverted personality. That takes a lot of courage. (:

(And your note to Cry is lovely. )

EvilVixen05 In reply to SakariYume [2013-08-20 20:11:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. He places a lot of effort to get into the mood of the story and tell it like it was happening to him or something. His voice acting is quite amazing, I agree that he should think about doing that but he's fine where he is now. His voice is so soothing and humor just makes you smile regardless of how you were feeling before the video. You could be upset at the world, then sit down to watch a Cry video... and its just melts away.Β

I just wish people weren't so harsh and selfish about him. :/ It doesn't help his fears, rather it just encourages him to distrust people more and more. That's why he has very few friends that's the Late Night Crew. If people were more gentle and understanding his fears, he would be much more open as we're not there to judge him.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SakariYume In reply to EvilVixen05 [2013-08-20 21:08:33 +0000 UTC]

He does, and I noticed that in some reads where the person is on the verge of tears, I truly believe he may very well be on the verge of tears too. His voice acting is compelling, that's for sure. If he ever did pursue a career in that field, he'd be golden, because I noticed he can also change his voice on a whim (I also notice these things because I have a dear friend who is an actual voice actor). And a lot of Cry's videos do lift my spirits, regardless of my current mood. It's really helpful after a terrible day.

You would think that, as a fan, people would pay attention to that fact and support him without practically suffocating him. And I know some people are trying to help, but to demand him to respond to their offering of help does the exact opposite. Good intentions don't always equal good actions.

I just hope each day that I watch a video of his that if he's looking to be more comfortable in social settings, that he can overcome any obstacle in his mind preventing him from doing so, and if he's perfectly content where he is in life, that it continues and only gets better for him. (:

EvilVixen05 In reply to SakariYume [2013-08-20 22:00:58 +0000 UTC]

True and I hope for the same, that everything gets better for him. It won't be an easy thing to get over, I myself have some fear of talking to other people, even my own family. Probably not as severe as Cry's but still enough to get the idea of how he feels. It is easier to talk to others behind a computer screen as you can choose to not reveal your face but it is still a little jittery.Β

My hope is that everyone will soon understand and back away a little when he asks for space and go all white knight on everyone else and his own friends if they feel like they're a threat to him. Β

SakariYume In reply to EvilVixen05 [2013-08-21 01:10:57 +0000 UTC]

I understand to an extent what he's going through as well. It may not seem like I have fear of talking to people, but I actually have some pretty bad social anxiety, and luckily people pass off my extreme awkwardness for charisma. But really, I panic when I have to meet new people. I've missed out on group projects because I was afraid to talk to the other people in class. And yeah, though a computer screen helps (see, I'm talking to you more than I'd be able to upfront and in person), there's still always that fear of "what if I say the wrong thing at the wrong time?" and even worse when you're recording yourself talking (as in Cry's commentary).

And I share that hope as well. That people give him the breathing room he asks for.

Yeah, I only really talk to my older sister and younger brother and my boyfriend and sometimes my parents but I mostly prefer to be left alone when I'm working on something. But stick me up front of strangers or in a room of strangers I just get nervous and wanting to get away fast.

I can totally relate. I only talk to my brother, my dad, my boyfriend, and my best friend, but I love solitude when I'm doing art or poetry or whathaveyou. Crowds make me nervous. Like, my best friend is taking me to Disney in October, and though it'll be really fun because it's with her, I'm going to be a nervous wreck. And I have a presentation for my management class coming up and I'm so scared.

o.o Oh wow. Good luck on the presentation, but try to focus on your friend when having fun. ^^ It'll be fun. But yeah, I'm not a crowds person. >.< I do have a lot of friends but they're online friends so makes it easier to talk to them. :3

And yeah, online friends are a lot easier to talk to because there's no eye contact you have to make, and you can think out your responses, like, you're not on the spot, y'know? (:

I want to thank Cry.
In person.

Cry, this message is for you, and only you. If you have a deviantART profile, please respond to me on my profile, so no one knows it's you.
I won't tell. You have my word.
To be honest, I understand why you hide your face. I wish I could too. I don't like making eye contact, so I just look right past them, or at the ground. I guess you could say I'm shy?.
I felt lost at one point in my life, and I actually wanted to give up.
But then I found your channel and listened to you read so gently. I felt like you were right next to me, comforting me by reading so calmly.
I kept listening to your Cry Reads, and found out you read my favorite story, 'The Tell-Tale Heart.' I was amazed at the sound of your voice, because it sounded like you were the man himself. You put so much emotion in that story, it just convinced me to listen to more Cry Reads.
Thank you Cry
For saving me.
~Cat-Girl14

P.s. keep doing what your doing, Friend.
