Character from "made in abyss" for anyone who knows who she is.... *hugs*I definitely recommend the anime and then to read the manga, it's story is really original and interesting. It's a bit like madoka magicka however, it seems cute and sweet however... well... It gets dark
On the more technical side of things, this is much messier than my usual creations however I enjoyed drawing this way. I didn't go through the final stage of rendering on the shading like I usually do, I just left it rather messy and went through my usual steps of coloring, and then added some overpainting to bring out the details I wanted. This feels quicker and much more malleable if that makes sense, it's easier to change things whereas before everything was set from when I did the shading.
I did this in about an hour or less I think, at least an hour.

I fell in love, absolutely, with Made in Abyss from the moment I started watching it. My expectations were that this was another "Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On" type of series and I was proven wrong so direly xD
Made in Abyss has brought up so many important questions that are part of it's underlying themes; sacrifices, family, determination and most importantly in Season 1: the effects of disabilities on the conscious mind.
Seeing this artwork has really pushed me to go check out the manga so thank you! <3

Made in abyss I consider art, the story and such is so good and you're right about the underlying themes. It's so much deeper than what it might seem to be on the surface!
There are only 20 or so chapters after where the anime ends, I Think I'm going to read the manga from the beginning though since I saw a comment on one episode that the anime doesn't take everything that's in the manga, I want to check that out for myself xD

Yea the anime does not take everything into account from the manga. For ex. in the 13th episode when we find out how mitty became what she was. It only showed two scenes after then nanachi took mitty and ran. When in reality she stayed there for awhile doing even more test on kids. Luring them with her/his sweet bunny appearance and then killing them. BTW YOUR ART IS AMAZING I WANNA HUG HER SOOOO MUCH!!!!!
