'cause grammar matters so much instead of the fantastic artwork.

yes, grammar matters.
its good to care how someone presents their artwork, doesnt matter how good it is.
also, that was only a friendly poke, nothing harsh.

I don't believe the artist's first language is English, and even if it is, pointing out a simple typo and adding nothing about the actual artwork is just being a dick.

My mother language is not english too. We are both from Poland.
For me if someone would make a good comic but with awful and "broken" language id like it less.
Its not pointing out as being a dick but just to help artist improve. If the art is like that already why not present it better?
Its not her fault - we all make mistakes. But its good that in a wave of "ass-licking" fantastic comment she'd have something different to point out other things and help to improve. Person who commented is not laughing at her, its just "hey, you made a mistake yo"
Its not being a dick. Its being nice because the person did care about the spelling.

This is an artwork- not a comic. There is no spelling involved. It would be a different matter if it were a comic. Sure, they could point out what is probably a typo in the description, but at least say something about the artwork too. If you think people praising artwork is "ass licking" then I feel sorry for you.
