well, while i was coloring it felt like markers
but you can get the same effect (ok, almost) with watercolors! of course, a lot more difficult, but very rewarding~

Yeah, his art is definitely my ideal as far as coloring with paints go.
I try whenever possible, but for watercolor works on watercolor paper it's not so easy to make copies. I scan em at least, but I need to get a light box for transfers
