I don't know why but I can totally see 10,000 Miles by Mary Chapin Carpenter being a good candidate as a lullaby for Calius, especially when he has to go on Federation Business. I can imagine he used to sing it to her mother too before she passed away.
God I can just see him singing this song after the Federation pronounces Calius' rescue a failure ;___;
Again, Jim, you're one hard mother to draw... but I'm happier with this version then my last one a few years ago.
Seriously RPing the part of the Defiance|Alliance reboot right now that has so many feels and it was never in the original and it's making me want to draw so much Calius and Jim stuff ;w;
I know it's not amazing or anything in detail, but eh....
Also I feel with the release of Into Darkness I need to stress that Calius is NOT Carol Marcus' daughter...and was made back when the first movie came out so..yeah <__<;

Oh my word... I felt my chest tighten as I saw and read this. I want to cry....
Truly, truly beautiful work on this one. And that little horse plushie is such a sweet touch, making this all the more human (and heartbreaking)...

;__; Honestly, I always get a little teary eyed thinking about how hurt Jim got over losing not only David but then Calius, and worse of all not knowing if she in fact is actually dead or just missing. I always think back to how hurt he was in Star Trek 6 over David and that always makes it worse because you know he wanted a second chance (hence why I made Calius!) but then she is taken away. At least with David, Jim had an outlet to take it out on, he knew nothing of Calius' kidnapper until she returns for the last two months of her probational period to remember her past with him at Starfleet (which is where I am at now in the Reboot of this RP and the fact we make then interact this time just brings up all the feels!)
But at least they do find each other again and she does eventually gain her memories back, which is the good news
I'm so glad it was able to convey that emotion though, even if it's a sad one

Oh gee, I didn't realize that was what inspired you to make Calius to begin with, wanting to give Jim a second chance with having a child... oh goodness, I think I'm crying again now too....
And yes, you did, you are extremely good at conveying quiet but profound emotions like this, whether happy or sad or just thoughtful ones.
