I very much tried, yes,to recreate those awesome Chinese lines, i have 4 A4 pages of sketches where i tried to get the roosters done in the least amount of lines i could but...

i didn't like any so i went with ..whatever this is hahaha

the ground clutter was added at last moment with a stick dipped in ink cause i was annoyed of how static everything looked...

Yeah, I read it in another comment.Β
Now I want to talk about cooking. I was a chef and a baker for several years.Β
Did you cut your own fries? What kind of beef, 20/80? Cheese? Blah, blah, blah ;]Β

I had a burger earlier (yesterday I guess). It was kind of dry.Β

Sabz0r In reply to nilwilnil [2018-10-20 15:58:52 +0000 UTC]

Well .. I usually cook everything from scratch but not with burgers because we don't really have that type of cuisine and we don't eat that often ..

So the buns were bought, the meat is the frozen one for burgers, beef (hopefully)

I cooked them, yea did my own fries (i hate the frozen ones) but i only add salt to them and i also added a caramelized onion

Will (willisrharrower ) actually gave me a very nice recipe for burgers , to get my own composition done and it sounded very close to that of meatloaf so it should be plain easy, i just didn't .. think of doing it before
Once inktober is done i most surely need to try some Real burgers.

(yea two slices of cheese )

nilwilnil In reply to Sabz0r [2018-10-20 16:20:50 +0000 UTC]

Will seems like a smart guy, a guy who knows how to do stuff.Β
Not sure why I think so, I could be completely wrong :]

Put a thumb print in the middle of your burgers, they'll cook flatter instead of like meatballs.Β
You can cook them to temp (rare, medium, well done) more accurately too.Β

Mmm, caramelized onions. What kind of cheese?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Sabz0r In reply to nilwilnil [2018-10-20 16:28:20 +0000 UTC]

well we found some sort of gouda? i think? that works well with hamburgers as it melts very well and doesn't have a too cheesy or salty taste ,it's already pre-cut in round thin slices

I'm actually proud of my cooking skills ,especially compared to those i know .. not many around here even cook anymore actually..

My cooking is influenced by mediterranean cooking ( i love pasta so i had to do my own pasta ) and lately i've been in love with far East one ( just started experimenting )

when i do the burgers i'll send you a photo.
Also.if you used to cook this well you still do so if you got some free time..whenever maybe you can teach me some stuff.. I'm sure i got lots to learn

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nilwilnil In reply to Sabz0r [2018-10-20 16:45:19 +0000 UTC]

Gouda is good, mild, creamy, a little smoky.Β

Few people know how to cook. When they do, they all use recipes. I just improvise usually.Β Β

Cool, I love making pasta. I have a hand cranked machine, it even cuts noodles.Β
It's fun to put herbs (or herb) in the dough.Β

Just ask whenever you have a culinary question, I'll do my best to answer.Β

Awh ! i like to see we have same approach

My mom never used a cooking book , my grandma did and my mom always used to make fun of her for that

now.. i get it that in pastries you need to get the "perfect amount" but my grandma used to need help with putting salt in food as well
10 minutes to decide if half a spoon is enough or she should go for a full spoon...

For me somehow it comes natural.. i've learned some things about taste theory if i may call it like that,i got some aces up my sleeve
(again, from youtube stuff and cooking shows lol i know it sounds stupid but i took what was good out of them and practiced )
I love to experiment with different things.. I usually like to mix up sweet and savory in a way or another

I might ask your favuorite dish from what you prepare Quite curious to know

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nilwilnil In reply to Sabz0r [2018-10-20 18:19:41 +0000 UTC]

My mom used to cook like me, now she uses recipes. I don't know why, but she has become very unsure of her skills.Β
Maybe because she has to cook for my family's bland tastes.Β

I've been watching cooking shows since I was three feet tall, my mom taught me a few things, I experimented a lot too.
I read cook books instead of comic books. I like to cook because I can make things taste the way I want them to taste. .Β

Even when I bake I just make stuff up, I follow my intuition.Β Like you said, it comes natural.Β
Of course, at the bakery, I had to follow recipes for consistency. The croissants had to be the same every day.Β
But, my co-workers said I was a flamboyant baker, they wanted to put me in the window for customers to watch.Β
I guess I was flamboyant, I felt like I was conducting an orchestra at the bread table.Β Β

My favorite dish? I make a good curry, a good chili, clam chowder, stuffed pork loin, the list goes on. I really am a decent cook, I forgot that I was.Β

Sabz0r In reply to nilwilnil [2018-10-20 18:30:57 +0000 UTC]

Awh sorry to hear about that... bland tastes..Yuck ! I also know some that think salt is the only condiment to add to food

I don't have many cook books but i usually check online and see more than one recipes and do a mix out of what i think would work the best..

My mom used to experiment a bit too much especially in cakes, you can't call the cake Krantz if it doesn't go "krantz" when you bite it

Depends on what i'm baking. If i go for easy stuff i usually know the consistency already and what the recipe needs and i usually nail it without any measurements but when i bake new recipes i try to follow the "book" just to make sure if the end result is what i want or not.. Once i find the good "base" recipe and do it properly i start experimenting .

Flamboyant baker I bet you would've looked awesome and you would've pulled an amazing show

Never tried curry(lol) , chili sounds damn yummy but again, not something romanians cook so i didn't have the chance to do any..(maybe you can help me with that )

I bet you're an amazing cook !

i think its just people that fuck up the idea of marriage.. not the marriage itself...

words always seem so frightening but its actually just the people turning those concepts into shitty deals...

Or .. i guess it depends on what exactly from "marriage" you tried avoiding at all costs

I love the icons you add! They're so funny & cute.

I agree. I'm lucky to live in a region that generally has seasonal changes, but they're not like they used to be. It seems as if our moderate seasons (spring & autumn) are each compressed into a few weeks & we speed from winter to summer, and they both seem as if they last forever. Hopefully, we can all drag our heels for autumn to stay around a bit & feed us the colors we need to see!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Sabz0r In reply to DixieRamone [2018-10-09 10:06:27 +0000 UTC]

Yes .. we also have a lot of changes lately...we used to have harsh winters now we barely see snow..if it snows its in April
Spring lasts 1-2 weeks too but autumn seems like she hid winter somewhere and took over
