Description
The Desert Mantis is a powerful predatory mantis shrimp armed with both smasher and spearer claws that lives in the Harthavir Desert, where the Dragon King, Eonan, makes his home in its mountain range. One of the few animals that can kill a dragon, this 100 foot long stomatopod can and will hunt anything it wishes, though it mostly prefers the giant scorpions that feed of the desert shrubs. A young dragon's right of passage as a predator is to kill Desert mantis with no fire or magic and then bring its carapace back as a trophy. many are the scars on young adults that have failed their first attempt and survived.
