Comments/critiques are always welcome and are encouraged.
(Don't be too harsh though, I don't follow this anime. I just wanted to draw certain characters)

Love how you drew the mask It would have been awsome if you could've removed those sketchy lines. They're a bit in the way.

Oh! Okay. I was actually working on a cleaner version but it got benched so to speak xD. I'll try to post the revised version soon Thanks for the comments!

nicely done wouldn't change a thing the gritty-ness of it fits well to not sure if that was left over from the sketch or if it was intentional

Really? Well, I'll keep this one and post a revised one. ^___^ Lets see which one would look better Ahaha. The gritty-ness was left over from my sketch. That's how I sketch my work, messy and dirty LOL

look forward to seeing it, i've always liked a lil gritty-ness in drawings as it gives them a sense of motion I guess kinda like the really old tom and jerry cartoons

Yeah! More the classic trad look than the super duper clean look of most digital drawings nowadays. Although like you, I really favor the painterly look rather than the super clean realistic coloring.

Thank you! For some reason, I made it a hell lot more detailed than I thought I could make it xD

First of all, I think these chibis are awesome! I love the hands especially-they look like little brutes!
Although what would ideally make them better is that they could be cleaned up a bit more because they look a bit messy at the moment (I think a very clean style would work well for these)
I also love your use of line and expression!

Ahaha! I just got the urge to draw them chibified so I did. Actually the pencils are far more "clean" looking. Its just that the scanner picked up all the mess I made. xD I was thinking if I should redo the lines in digital. so I might post a revision fully digitized. Thank you for your comments!

Yeah, scanners have a tendency to do that which is an utter pain!
I think redoing the lines in digital would work wonders! It would be nice to see

I'm still working on it. xD I usually don't bother redoing the lines since I usually ink my pieces. however in this case, I don't have inking pens that work anymore. xD So i scanned the pencils.

I've scanned pencils in a few times and gone over them on Illustrator (vector program similar to Photoshop-you can do a similar effect in Photoshop) and it works very well.

Oh! Yeah, I have illustrator. I haven't tried it that much though

It's a bit hard at first, but once you get the hang of it it's very good.

Yeah~ I guess we all have to go through that " WTH is this!?!?" stage then we start getting used to it xD

I like how the drawing's very simple, the only thing I suggest is to clean a bit more the lineart. and maaaaybe you could try to add just a little bit of shading, I think it would look cool, but just a suggestion

s0pas In reply to Daphne8 [2009-06-08 11:50:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the line art scan wasn't really good. All the dirt and messiness I do with my drawings was captured by the scanner! xD I have a revision I'm currently working on. ^___^
