Hello!
WARHAMMER MONTH US UPON US EARLY!
Today is a quick study sketch of a new-ish character to one of the local 40k RP groups. Say hello to Shas'la Fi'Rios Mal'Caor, aka Spider!
I was quiet honored when I was asked if someone could play a male version of my OC Striver, and have them related! So this is Striver's biological brother, Mal'Caor!
Despite Striver also being a Pathfinder of Sept Fi'Rios, the two have never met, and in fact have no knowledge that the other even exists. In perhaps a joke of fate, the two have had nearly diametrically opposite lives and experiences despite incredibly similar circumstances and skill sets.
Whereas Mal'Caor was seen as being an excellent Pathfinder with his running speed, reflexes, and ability to navigate extraordinarily rough terrain compared to a Tau, Striver, who is as equally skilled as her sibling, was viewed as being a mediocre Pathfinder at best due to her limited eyesight compared to a Tau. Despite both being assigned to protect those with markerlights or rail rifles, Mal'Caor was assigned to it out of consideration of his superior abilities, whereas Striver was assigned merely due to a lack of anything else that she was considered capable or competent in.
Mal'Caor was repeatedly sent into battle against humans to test and prove his loyalty to the Greater Good over his species, but Striver's commanders kept her away from human-involved conflicts, not wishing to put her in any situation where her efficiency would be compromised.
As a result, Mal'Caor ultimately developed to embody the more aggressive ideals of the Mont'Ka, the Killing Blow, while Striver became an example of the ideals of the Kauyon, the Patient Hunter. Mal'Caor excels at combating the Imperium and Chaos where Striver is the scourge of Orks and Tyranids. Mal'Caor has little patience for his own species while Striver is very curious about what makes a human, well human.
It is yet to be seen if Mal'Car shares his sister's love for tea or not.
Expect to see more of this cheerful ball of obnoxious idealism in the future!
