Description Don't leave stupid comments about musical preference or the phrase 'emo poser,' please. This is all in good fun.

This honestly happened. I was at Virgin, eyeing an MCR shirt when I saw two teenagers in matching outfits ogling the same shirt.

I felt so old.

But I got the shirt anyway, because it shouldn't matter.

They were cute. One had a little pink bow in her hair. I almost went over to them and pointed out other MCR stuff the store had, but I figured they would find it.

I guess I'm never growing up . . . simply because my handwriting still looks like I'm five.

Doodle comic(c)robin edwards.

I don't look like the typical MCR fan. I have big boobs and hips, so skinnies and baggy band tees dont go. I do have dark hair, but thats natural. So I would've been the girl in the corner eyeing the shirt and wishing I could buy it.
No matter how old you are, you are never to old to be AWESOME and love MCR. And display that love proudly.

I intend to be buried in a black parade jacket. And I'm not dieing until I'm at least 103. 99 years to go!

That story made me really happy [:

And it reminds meof when me and three friends met up and by no forward planning:
3 out of 4 of us had black skinnes
3 out of 4 of us had the black parade tour tee
and all 4 of us had the Together We March hoodie

We must have looked so cool walking down the highstreet together xDDD

I feel your fear; I have seen many a younger otaku that make me question what I look like to "normal" people. sigh... but I too, am happy with myself and where fandom has taken me, so keep on truckin' Rae! At least we can say we were there before most of them were, no?

discosmackdown [2008-09-10 14:46:57 +0000 UTC]

oh for the love of cheese. if there's one thing that bothers me is when self-claimed 'old' people worry about what they look like. wear what you're comfortable in, no matter what it is. my mother is in her 40's and she absolutely adores MCR; she even steals my Black Parade hoodie sometimes when she leaves for work in the morning! D< (and if that's old, then i'm terrible for wearing loads of Spongebob shirts o_________o; )

it's funny though, really. the Hot Topic where i live is both good and bad, but mostly bad. i LOVE Hot Topic and all, but for god's sakes there are asshats in that store. the only good store in the mall is f.y.e.; the people are so friendly there D:

ryuuenx In reply to discosmackdown [2008-09-10 17:29:36 +0000 UTC]

Heh; the kids at Hot Topic here at our main mall are nice, but the mall is very touristy because of the location. We get a lot of . . . "OMG, what did I walk into?!' looks on people's faces when we see them go into HT.
I will most likely be dressing like this well into my 40s. Which is scary only because it's . . . . 13 years away. Years go by fast XD;;;;

discosmackdown In reply to ryuuenx [2008-09-10 18:31:49 +0000 UTC]

HAH! there are nice people who pop into HT every once and a while but not often enough. our mall is full of ugly people give them one glance and they'll freak out >_>

vickythefluffy [2008-09-10 14:26:58 +0000 UTC]

Aahhhh, such a good story. And SUCH GOOD MORALS. I had a similiar epiphany in finally giving in and buying skinny jeans. Because my tailcoat looks so much better with black skinnies than with a skirt, which is much more of a suave look than the sillies around where I live. And because I actually got in them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ryuuenx In reply to vickythefluffy [2008-09-10 17:32:29 +0000 UTC]

I gave in to the skinny jeans also because they fit! (I was surprised, too . . .) I'm glad they don't look like 'mom jeans', the kind that hug you in all the wrong areas and with waists that go up to your neck.

Your avatar, btw = awesome XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vickythefluffy In reply to ryuuenx [2008-09-10 18:06:36 +0000 UTC]

Very true. I got fed up with people squeezing themselves into them because fashion dictated that they must, so I said I never would. But as I say, the tailcoat thing worked so well, and as YOU say, I was monumentally surprised to find that they fitted and looked pretty good, so I caved.

And thank you! Ron = win.

I think OxyClean works for some forms of rofl, but only if it's on a certain fabric (not skinny jeans!). Rotfllmao stains need to be dry-cleaned!
