Description This image won FIRST PLACE in the annual 2006 International Digital Art Contest - the "Donnie" award - at the Museum of Computer Art in Brooklyn, New York City - an online and also real brick and mortar gallery. I'm really excited about it and I think/hope it shows the beginnings of more acceptance of fractal art in more "mainstream" circles. The art and theater stage doesn't get much bigger than in the Big Apple - We're getting there!

Thanks for dropping in!
Rick

Thanks, Linda! It was was such a neat surprise and, since I almost think of these images as my "kids", I'm really happy for this one. Does that seem weird? lol BTW - do you think my cartoon-like post at Rendo was unseemly? I just thought it was such a funny thing and the resemblance to Marge Simpson grabbed me...

You're always most welcome, Rick. I love your work. Uh-oh, I haven't browsed the Rendo fractal gallery for a couple of days. I'll trip on over and take a look, but I'm sure if you created it, it won't be "unseemly."

I already congratulated you on the other site, I'm Redshift there, but I want to repeat it here: Congrats Rick, with what could be a major breakthrough for fractal art, which I surely hope will happen, because artists like you are deserve this recognition and our fractal art in itself deserves much more attention out there... So keep on inspiring the rest of us with your marvelous ART!

Rykk In reply to Zueuk [2006-01-08 04:08:51 +0000 UTC]

LOL - It's original name was "Prehistoric". When I posted it elsewhere under that name, a lot of people saw a crashed plane. So I figured I was just weird seeing the prehistoric terrain and gave it this name when I posted it here. It's working name was "Bedrock" because of the prehistoric vibe and Hurricane Wilma was lashing my house as I made it. Get it ? Flintstones.....Fred.....Wilma..... - ok maybe I AM nutz! lol
