Description My boyfriend decided I wasn't geeky enough with being just a WoW grrl and being into computers. He and his friends decided it was time I learned Dungeons and Dragons ... not sure if I should be happy or run for the hills lol Think after D&D is going to be playing Magic with them .... I think I'll run after learning D&D

Anyways, after looking at all the things you can be in D&D (never realized how similar the classes are to old school EQ) I decided on a half-elf druid. Not sure which elf half she is going to be .... kinda neat that a drow can be a druid .... crazy!

She has no name yet, since my boyfriend slacked on having me make a character sheet for her.

(Stupid title won't take the & symbol ... what is up with that!)

hehe it can be fun if you have the right people. We decided on a evil campaign, so I am now a drow paladin ... not sure how she became a paladin though since she is evil lol

D&D can be a blast! I used to do it a few years ago, and hubby was a long time GM/player way before I met him. He was playing a lil with his AF buddies back before he got out and we moved, so we decided since we don't really have anyone around here to play with, we'd do a lil game with our daughter and see how she does. A couple sessions in now, and she's loving it

I wish I took D&D up when I was younger. Seems like a great way to release your creative juices and create beautiful characters with what you can take from your campaigning world that you are using.

Oh yeah it's an awesome creative release! Back in the day, my main group consisted of me and about 4 or 5 guys that sat around playing. We started turning our creative juices to writing too, and had a pretty decent novel in the works before all hell broke loose lol. Needless to say, I don't think it ever did get finished once I left. I am loving that my daughter gets so into it. She doesn't just tell you that she's going to shoot that orc with her bow, she gets up and jumps around and shows you So damn cute!

Awww, how cute! Mine is a bit to young to learn it yet, she is only 7, but I am sure she would be so interactive with what her character would do like yours does. I am actually looking forward to learning this, to bad the books are like 20 dollars a piece or I would go stock up on some books to read up on.

Uhm, Gypsy is only 7, so don't underestimate your kiddo As for the books, try finding a used bookstore. Even getting some of the older books is fun, even if they are outdated by today's rule set. Always fun to have some history

I might try that. Mine won't sit still long enough to do something like D&D lol ... I guess I could try to see if she would like to try it out ... she likes watching me play WoW and has her own little hunter to play around on.

You might wanna give it a try hon. Wouldn't hurt you either, learning the mechanics and everything, with just you hubby and kiddo. That's basically what we've been doing. Short one hour sessions keep it so we're moving along, but not so long that she has a chance to get bored. She -always- wants to keep going, which means she's having fun I homeschool her, so this gives her a creative outlet. I'm only now getting her to enjoy reading, and she always loves telling stories, so it goes hand in hand. Now if only I could get her to write her stories down, I'd be a happy mommy
