Description
They are the guardians of the Keys of Dreams. They come when you are most in need of them and unlock your dreams. Nenyo the Owl, guardian of the Moon Star Key, presides over the dreams of night. He brings wisdom and insight to those who heed him. Sayana the Raven, guardian of the Sun Key, presides over the dreams of waking hours. She brings visions and worlds to those who are idle or in pain. Together, the two govern and maintain the Dream Realms, and ensure the safety of those who walk them.I hope you like them! I thought about what I should do for the contest for a couple of weeks. I finally came up with this. And, yes, I know the raven's head is too big and tail is too short.
Materials: 4H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, and 4B graphite pencil on heavy weight drawing paper.
Please Critique: composition, portrayal of concept, use of medium.

Not really, but I have considered absorbing it into the larger mythos of my make-believe world. I have even considered other players such as a nightmare keeper and reaper of dreams.

Science (or at least biology) is the kind of field that requires a more traditional graduate school experience. After all, most of the 5 year program consists of a self directed reaserch project (in a lab, or the field, or both), and assistantships. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Thank you. The wings were a lot of work. I thought I might be able to finish the picture in a week, but it took so long to draw each individual feather that it took a week and a half instead.
