So does mine.
Its not so much the bullet but where it lands.

No.
And neither can yours. .50 caliber does nothing to a tank.

that's why I'm building bullets that should be able to take down the sprocket which should in turn causes the track to slip leaving the tank vulnerable for an attack if coming from behind the attacker should be able to take a grenade and throw it into the tanks control

Have you ever cast your own bullets before?
In any case, even the sprockets are pretty tough. I'm sure even exploding rounds won't inflict enuogh damage to cause the tank to throw a trap.
Despite what you may see in movies and on TV, knocking out tanks is not something rifles of any caliber can really do. If you need to eliminate a tank, you need ordinance. And ordinance refers to artillery like mortars or howitzers, or rocket launchers.
If you're really, really desperate, you can rig a bomb with grenades or something like C4, run up to the tank and try to plant it in front of the track (maybe even on the track). That will only blow the track off however, and bombs like those made in the field can be more threat to the guy using it than the would be target.
In short, leave tank killing to artillery or aviation assets.

Hey, there's always a use for the Dragunov. XD
(The main use for mine is cutting down trees. XD)

Hmm...ya know, I always saw Falco as an automatic rifleman myself. Krystal always seemed to be the sniper type to me. In my story series, one of my characters gives her a Dragunov and it becomes something of a primary rifle for her.

huh, really? Interesting.... i dont know, maybe because in a officail artwork you always see falco with long-range weapons and Krystal with the gatling gun or grenades.

Yup. *nods*
Hmm...ya know, that's a good point. *nods* Other than the sniper rifle, you tend to see Falco with the rocket launcher.
Nothing wrong with Krystal having a gatling gun, but I think the Dragunov suits her quite well. ^^ XD

Yeah...it just suits her. Plus, think of this...her psychic abilities can help her sense the location of enemies more easily, then draw bead and take them down.

Ah, I see. *nods* Dragunovs in current Russian military service are solid black...even the telescope might be all black.
For my characters that use a Dragunov, they have a different telescope. It looks the same, but features nightvision, thermal imaging, and other optical features.

Russian-Fox In reply to HitokiriHimura [2008-10-10 00:41:33 +0000 UTC]
Yup. XD
Hmm....ya know, I'm not sure. Black is okay looking, but I gotta say the colour of the woodwork looks nicer if you ask me, especially in person. My Dragunov has black for its foregrip and wood for the stock, the colour of the stock gives it a nicer overall look I have to say.
Hmm...interesting. I gotta say I (and my characters. XD) would always go with the Dragunov reticle. Around the world, its considered the best type ever designed.
Hey, no worries at all. Please, do talk! XD I'm always up for talking about guns. ^^

@ Adder: Much thanks. I've always been one for 'technical specs'. XD
@ Kook: It really depends on the manufacturer, although regions of the world seem to follow a pattern. Many Western designs tend not to have iron sights, where as most East Bloc designs do.

Is it always a standard thing to have ironsights on a sniper rifle?
