Description I have to personify a bunch of objects for a class of mine, so u might see a few of these character designs.

I personified a Thunderbolt 1000 Federal Siren, if ur wondering what it is, its a siren used around schools and towns in the Cold War for bomb drill, and its siren is... frightening: [link] <---- i implore you to watch this for at least 15 seconds, it strikes fear in the blood right away...

but i was thinking about the object itself, regardless of how scary it was to hear it sounding, and how useless the drills were (cuz u were pretty much doomed if an attack was really happening) it was meant to warn you and try and tell you to go somewhere safe.

so I imagined if this thing were alive, he would have big eyes to look out for any danger or signals of danger, be tall to see anything suspicious, and may be very anxious and afraid, ready to warn people to duck and cover.

hope u like

Nice work on personifying the great T-bolt siren.

My city actually has a functioning thunderbolt siren. It is tested every Monday at 1:15 PM along with all the other sirens in the city. But I hear the thunderbolt over all the others due to my close proximity to it.

Its current purpose is to signal tornado warnings. Hearing that thing go off during a thunderstorm is enough to get you running for your basement.

thank you <3
haha yeah I'd imagine, those models are extremely loud, especially on attack mode (if that is what it is lol)

They are loud. But I have never heard my local thunderbolt played on attack. Only alert during tests or tornado warnings.

But it makes an awesome noise though.

I hope it doesn't get replaced with an ATI or something. (I hate ATIs).

Yeah ATI's are not my fav either.  Thunderbolt's just scream Cold War culture to me.
My town has a siren as well, but I'm not sure what model.  It sounds every time it's noon, which freaks me out at work because I'm like programmed to think it's a nuke or something haha.

ATI's sound crappy to me, plus they are not very loud and their sound doesn't travel all that far. They are too high pitched. They really need to make dual tone sirens again. Dual tone sirens just... Are the best...

Around here the thunderbolt goes off once a week. It is mounted on a high-rise building downtown. However, when it goes off during a nasty storm we are all like "AHHHH. TORNADO IS COMING. A TORNADO IS COMING! TO THE BASEMENT!" The sound is enough to get you alerted and running for cover during nasty weather, which is why our thunderbolt works very well for it's post-Cold War purpose.

I knew it was only a matter of time before someone would personify one of the most well known sirens of the Cold War!

Hah not really, I only did the Thunderbolt because of the sound, i thought it sort of was the symbol of the cold war in america

Fare enough.

Thought if you ever want to see one up close just head on down south to Dallas Texas, most of the old Cold War system is still standing

What class is this? English? And for once, your youtube video didn't scare me/make me wan to sleep! I was pleasantly surprised! I really like this guy and how you personified him *perfectly* of the siren. the nuke clothes he's got on and the old, technological feel make him look like he was set in the time the Cold War. the anxiousness and fear the siren gives off is very clearly shown in his panicked eyes. but even without the reference to the war or the object itself, he's quite the curious character and makes you want to learn more about him. Kinda thinking a story could use a character like him....
Loving this concept of making objects into people idea, Salad! this is awesome!
