If you like Photoshop, you might want to learn masking and what the checkerboard button above the layers does. (It's a transparency lock. It completely retains transparency when you draw on that layer, therefore nothing goes out of bounds. To disable it, just click the checkerboard again with that layer selected. A lock icon to the right of the layer means it's locked with any lock, even a full lock.) These two things are real timesavers and I suggest you adapt to and utilize them.

Oh yeah, I use that often. As the same technique was used for SAI. Sometimes, I just turn it off occasionally, but I will continue to take note of it since I do want to speed up my painting process c:

Nobody likes taking a long time to do art. That's why we lazy people invent ways to make it faster.

Well, it varies. Art is better the longer it takes and stuff, least in my opinion. But as a faster technique, yeah it would be better overall. :>
