Description Oh man, I love how this came out. You have no idea. It was all just so experimental. I guessed it would come alright, but I never imagined something so DELICIOUS. Oh man, When I first finished it, I layed it out on the sofa and just ROLLED on it in glee. (Cats and folks thought I went bonkers, but it's okay. It was my birthday, damnitall!!!)
So the estimated final dimentions are like.. 2.5ftX3.5ft ish. The dimensions will change a little when I wash it and make the shape snap back to the way it's supposed to, but yeah... <3 So I figure my stitches must be about 1inch wherein my moms are .5 which is BULLSHIT 'cause she used the size needle bigger >___O Oh well.
SO YEAH.
As soon as I have enough time to work up a formal pattern, I'll go ahead and link it.
Twelve inch ruler for perspective.
776
Dark Orchid is the color, btw. Someone asked
[link]
Third colum, just more then half way down.
So I've gotten a five row headstart on John's and Jade's since I don't have the full pattern made out, yet. Jade's dark color's a little too close to the main for my taste. Shame, it looked SO GOOD in the store D= Oh well. John's is just beautiful, man. I'll work on dave all the way at the end, since his will have three colors. It will hurt my brain D=

I LOVE ROSE.
Squiddles (C) ANDREW HUSSIE [link]

Also, I'm keeping this one, but as long as Andrew doesn't care, I can make 'em for other people. Takes about one and a half skeins of purple, one and a quarter of black to make this design... No idea what to charge, though! So much time... So much time...

Crochet, actually. But yes! Thank you very much <3 Ah, this was the first blanket I'd ever done. I've gotten better since then, though only marginally.

It's easy once you get used to it... It's just got a bit of a steep learning curve, like most tangible art forms. My suggestion is, if you really want to get into it, just keep going... even if it's terrible, you'll be surprised how good you are by the time you finish a scarf.
And here's the biggest thing I can say on the subject: It does not matter WHAT you're doing-- just do it CONSISTENTLY. If you do it the same way every time, you can easily bullshit having any kind of idea what you're doing. Who knows, maybe by fucking up, we may learn something!

Sorry for the late reply! I sort of kind of lost internet and moved so I've only gotten around to answering all of these now.
ANYWAY! Gosh, I haven't the foggiest of what to charge. Honestly, something like this could go for a hundred in a store... Okay, well ten bucks, but I'm no fricken Chinese slave laborer. All of that's done by hand, baby~ With so much love, your mother would get cavities. (/beingapompousasshole)
Anyway... Last I remember, I figured 40 would be a good bet... 20 for supplies, 10 for shipping, ten profit... Keep in mind I can do almost any design, just have to ask first. Only really practiced with the four kids symbols at this size-- but I've done much more complicated things with a larger size!

Funfact. The squiddle blanket was originally supposed to be a pillow case. I measured my mother's stitches to get the size... WELL APPARENTLY I HOLD MY NEEDLE DIFFERENTLY :I

Ha! Thanks for the compliment! This was my first ever blanket. I was so thrilled with the result that I just HAD to keep going... Now that I know what I'm doing, this one sort of seems lame by retrospect, but it will always have a place in my heart!

It is a wonderful thing and you are a wonderful person for making it.

Frankly I'm surprised how fast you finished this. I only know how to crochet single chains, so I'm very impressed.

In all honesty, I only know the one stich that my mom made up >w< She's showed me some of the others, but I'd dumb and can't get things on the first pass

And hey, when you've got two weekends and a birthday that you don't have to work, The spare time piles up quick ;D
Thanks for the compliment love!!

That's pretty damn good.

If you're going to sell Lovecrafified-Squiddle blankets, consider the costs of the purple and black skeins used to make this. Based on the prices listed by the site and your estimates for how much yarn you used, I've calculated it to be approximately $11.7975.

You might also want to think about how much your time is worth and add that to your intended price.

This one took about a week or so, but that's with like.. five days of free time, counting weekends? Then again, I had no idea what I was doing. Iunno. I would never try to do something like this for a living. Just was thinking if anyone was interested >w< Probobly thirty, thirty-five. Tenish for supplies, tenish for shipping whatever's leftover for myself! Or.. I don't know

Thanks for the compliment! I love this stuff. Something about it all is just so much fun >w<

Very cool blanket. I love it! This picture looks perfect! And nice and warm.

I'd suggest $25 plus shipping and a case to case basis, or even this cost to chip to anywhere in North America, this to ship off the continent
