Description
The "Tongue Grab" Flood form! Liking to think that Forerunners influenced the latin language, the Lingue Carpo is the name of this support Flood form.Being a higher tier of pure form, this monster launches its tendrils to snag and drag Forerunner warriors to infection.
Not a major fan of this perticular design, so am going to throw-up another version sometime soon.

Sounds deadly! And I think its a good one. I can imagine the Flood had these forms active, would be useful in ensnaring those trying to run since they'd be dragged back to the Flood!
I imagine the Flood Pure Forms are adaptive, I have even included the cut Pure Forms and other forms that were going to be in the games but were cut. I imagine there's other Pure forms too, bigger ones that don't transform but stay in one form.
And I, and a friend I talked with, think the Flood can consume animals as well. Imagine Flood-ified bear creatures?! Or a Flood-ified whale creature?! And also they could possibly adapt water creatures for land. Whale creature- if there's enough biomass on the ground near the shore, it could be converted to grow legs and walk on land, maybe have a gigantic tongue which it uses to ensnare and eat victims!
I imagine what we dealt with in the games was nothing compared to what the Forerunners dealt with. We had only small infestations- Installation 05 (taken care of by glassing), High Charity (crashed and was taken out via Halo), and Voi on Earth (localized glassing to burn infested area). And we started getting Pure Forms with High Charity infested in Halo 3.
What the Forerunners must have dealt with...brrrrrrrrr! Must have been something straight out of a horror movie!

Very interesting Flood design... I wonder how this would handle Sentinel attacks? I can see it getting a mouthful of exploding Sentinel in the middle of its face

LoL So true haha. I thought of it as more of a grappler with flesh and bone Forerunners during the first 100 years of war, before the Forerunner forces were mainly made of Sentinels and where fighting the Flood en-mass on planet surfaces.

They would definitely be better off against biological beings! These Flood would be quite a sight taking down Forerunner civilians in a crowded town square...
