I was taking photos of the cobble-stone in the lane-way for the advertising campaign of a high-rise apartment block being constructed in the street, when these two business-people came along. I pretended to be pre-occupied with something, and then when they were both in frame, pressed the button.

One of the ideas that came out of the original creation meeting with the client is that they wanted, somewhere in the marketing, the look of cold, wet, blue-stone.
The way it turned out I only had one opportunity to get into the city to this laneway and take these photos, and as it happened, that day was the first time it rained in over 3 weeks - just for me!
The reason the temperature of the photo's colour is so cold was because I was capturing a specific blue-stone look. I had tried, at first, white-balancing, and the result just wasn't what I was after. Now that I look at it, the coldness conveys a certain feeling about the corporate image.
The shutter was slow enough that they slightly blurred, giving them a feeling of motion. Their upper bodies are out of shot, yet you can still see a mobile phone and a briefcase - which is why I think the whole shot is just perfect.
It almost looks like I hired them to be there.
