Well.

I've out done myself.

And the title is NOT in the literal sense.

It means They must hold onto each other to truly fly, and escape, and meet their true desires. In this case the desire is each other. In a romantic way of course.

They are floating together, in the middle of nothing. The only thing that keeps them from falling into this void, is their compassion for one another.

Life can be very confusing, the realities of it, when you break it down into simple needs, such as compassion, it is no longer as confusing, or it is, it just isn't payed attention to.

When your with that person, everything else around you, is not on your worries or conscience as it used to be.

This is why i say nothing, because they need nothing but each other.

But if they lose each other, they become back in touch with the reality of things, and they fall, overwhelmed by it. Into a void. which is unseen, until they let go.

Very nicely done, both drawn and the colors that you've added, along with a suspiciously lovely feeling that the entire piece has from the extra artistic effects you've given it.

You don't have to be so worried to clarify your metaphors. That is, if your only worry is that someone will take any part of your metaphors literally. Generally, because it's art, that doesn't happen. On the off chance that it does, the person making light of a metaphor in a literal sense is usually just trying to be a jackass.
