I don't think that's necessarily true- there are a ton of female villagers that I like/want in my town. I just haven't been able to get them yet.
I also have Wendy and Phil in my town but I don't really like Phil and adding Wendy by herself was gonna throw off the symmetry

I know what you mean, I do like a lot of the female villagers but I've either accidentally or had to move them out due to losing a really important villager that I needed back. Or as in your case, I just haven't had them yet.
I'm going to have no female villagers once Aurora moves out, I'm giving her to my brother because she is one of his dreamies. XD
