Description They fall upon the rugged face,
liquid glitter sparkling under grey
veils covering the dimly lit sky.

Are they light, dawdling creatures,
merging and meshing along jade leaves,
as the ant stops to drink its liquid blood?

Are they heavy diamonds that pierce
the body as one runs through them,
perhaps a weighty wealth unwanted?

Some fall in pools turning ebony,
rushing along the sides of asphalt
underneath the soles of passing feet.

Are they amoebas consuming as
they cling in vain to slick jackets,
plummeting from leathery cliffs?

Are they mirrors when they gather,
meant to reflect any life that passes
within their solitary range?

Often one thinks they are lost
once they descend to earth, yet
they are embraced by the skies

with tender sunlight, until they fall
again from sinful storms, and again
start their pilgrimage anew.

You have a great way with words. We can't escape raindrops in rain, but this is an interesting perspective.
