Siluk shuffled his feet like a child being forced to wait in line for food in the cafeteria as he registered for the halter class. It wasn’t something he particularly enjoyed, but he needed the experience of getting out around people who weren’t strictly in his tribe. All he had to do was stand there and look like he had everything under control right? Nothing too difficult.
Perhaps at the last second, he decided to choose the gruff brown tokota for his entry. Cheza had already experienced one show and from the tell tale signs of her hiding in his yurt, wasn’t keen on doing another. Besides, perhaps it would give the chance for Pooka to learn some patience or humility, and maybe he’s have a better chance at winning with Pooka’s unique looks. The scars might make them lose a few points, but the brown coat would hopefully make up for it. Siluk took a quick swig from his canteen filled with warm apple ale. A little bit just to keep the cold away on a rather chilly night.
Maybe a little bit was too much, or maybe it was the fact that his sips turned into to swigs, and swigs turned into gulps. Either way, before the judging came along Siluk had decided it was a good idea to take a swim. He donned his sealskin and flopped on the ground. The next thing he knew, he was on the beach with his face in the sand.
“Or?” Beady red-brown eyes blinked up at Pukulria in confusion. The tokota glanced down at his owner in dismal disdain. His lips lifted a little to reveal his canine tooth if only for a second. Siluk glanced at the blurry people nearby before laying his head back on the ground.
Being a drunk seal in a halter show really had to stop. He really, really didn’t want to create a habit out of this.
