Description
This is an homage to the first Mega Man game I ever completed, and I was so happy that I could do it. This is the ending that will always stick with me as being the best ending to a Mega Man game.Just, that long walk home after all you've accomplished, all the adversities you've overcome, all the wisdom you've gained and bestowed, all the friends you made and lost, and you can finally breathe out a sigh of relief and know that you've made an impact.
It feels like the proper close to a chapter.

I played this game all the time when I was little.
Only the people who have actually completed the game would know what this is.
Definitely one of the best games ever. The character designs are genius.

Thanks! Yeah, I had the line-art and thought it wouldn't take much to do a couple-of-frames animation cycle, so went ahead and did it.

To me the ending is symbolic. The world only needs a hero during the seasons of war. However, during peace, when Megaman's task is done, he leaves, possibly forever, with a part of himself left behind to symbolize that he changed the world forever.

I think I agree with that. A hero is only ever defined by the opposite of what he stands for, and once that is eradicated, he is no longer needed, rendering him absent but remembered

When i saw this, The Megas' song Lamentations of a War Machine started playing in my mind. And meanwhile the expression you've given him makes me want to hug him so much.
The way you rendered the iconic ending from Mega Man 2 is full of love and win, m'good artiste.

I've not heard that song, but I will have to check it out.
I know, this ending to Mega Man, particularly the music, has always stuck with me, whenever a certain chapter in my life closes, this is always in my head.
And I think his expression is important, because I wanted to portray a sense of accomplishment but heavy with both strife and relief.
