thank you <3 I learned to do paws by drawing them absolutely everywhere 8D open any class notebook of mine and you'll find paws and eyes, all over the place XD haha

And that's okay about GIMP. I'm already really good at using it, but I don't have a tablet so I'm restricted to using a mouse...

Then I salute you for your patience *-* I tried using a mouse, made me want to strangle the screen. XD If you have something similar to a pen tool in GIMP, you can try working with that - it's a good substitute for a tablet

I usually use the paths tool. You jusst lay down points and it lines them straight and smooth.
And as the mouse problems, try also having a broken down laptop so you have to use a slow-as-h*ll pc that freezes from anything with more than six layers.

Lol. I try to use limited layers. And my laptop before it went ka-plewy, it couldn't handle more then ten. I tried and it deleted the entire thing. I was so mad. And I was at a friend's house so I couldn't get too mad. (i.e. bust a wall or two)

I tried a dog (well, hellhound :3) and it came out... well... not good, but not bad. I might upload it. I ask you to upload one of yours, but I'd probably get jealous and disappointed in my own attempt...

Well (another suck-y thing) I don't have a scanner so I'll have to upload it later, but that's a good idea.
One thing I'm bad at is thinking of poses. And once I get something in mind, I don't have the perspective so it always comes out flat... I'm asking around for tips, but nothing entirely helpful has came up yet.

perspective is the bane of my existence x__x if you get proper help, share the knowledge 8D I know what it is to have this perfect image in your mind but not be able to put it down on paper. I have a theory that the more strongly you can hold that image in your mind, the better you will be at drawing it. It seems to be the case with me, at least. My better pictures come along when I can clearly envision what I want to draw.
