Damn, I never commented on this one, either.Β I love how concepty and almost hazy/vague it looks, just like how you remember dreams!Β I always thought this one looked a bit magical, too, like the cat is leading you somewhere secret.Β The lighting and colors are so pretty~

Black cats also have a lot of meaning to me as well, since my grandmother would feed/house/help animal control fix the stray cat population in her neighborhood, and most of them were black! What about you?

I grew up on a large property on the outskirts of town. Ever since I could remember, I begged my parents for a kitten. One day they brought one home - she was black with a little white spot on her chest. I named her Daisy. She was not a very well-behaved cat... but she eventually spawned a very long line of other black cats. Black cats are all I ever had! At one point we had some two dozen cats living on the property. It was kind of awesome. Unfortunately, living in an area with a lot of natural predators, the lifespan of our kitties wasn't very long. But every once in a while a litter would come along that was so amazing. In grade school I didn't have many friends, so my relationship with the cats meant a lot to me. Even now I haven't strayed far... my current kitty is gray - I've had her for some 7 years, and she's like family.

That aside, I really, really love the color scheme for this one, I've always had a soft spot for dessert things, and this really makes me feel like I'm in a beautiful Saharan dessert nightfall

Haha, actually my dreams are notorious for being painfully uneventful... So much so that when this happened, I had to show my dream sister and was all analyzing how I'd draw it

Ohhh, you interpreted this as a desert? That's pretty cool when I look at it that way... It's actually a snow scene, but I had a heck of a time depicting it... in my dream there was a super bright yellow lamp somewhere making everything glow vibrant yellows and oranges. Inevitably I wasn't able to make it look exactly how it did in my dream, but I think that's what makes this so interesting. It's very interpretative and like you said has a lot of meaning behind it, even if it's hard to pinpoint. If only I could think of images like this consciously... lol. Thanks

It's simpler than a lot of your works but I found this so punchingly powerful that...I had to tell you in a comment. 8I This piece really intrigues me, I don't know what it is about this one in particular, but I feel I could contemplate it for a while.
