I've been messing around lately with different poses to finally break out of the standard standing pose, so what better way to start practising than by drawing my main guy?

From left to right: Organic kid Roller, young robot monkey Roller, and lastly Roller in his current form.

The main idea I had behind Roller's more organic form was that he wasn't colored the way he currently is, I recall talking to a friend about it and wanted to think that his mouth, chest and feet got yellow because of an accident with paint XD, either way, Roller in his childhood was one happy little Monkey, loving life and everything around him.

Young Robot Monkey Roller is what I had in mind when his old story was about how he was Mandarin's twin and he was the first robot monkey to be ever created, the "prototype", (back then it became my way to try and one up every single OC that ever came out xD), my old idea was for him to be dressed jus like Mandarin, but while drawing him like this I changed my mind and gave him a different armor with a different color palette, in this version Roller is just a rookie, he's taking his new super hero duties seriously, but ofc seriousness is not enough if you lack experience.

Finally we got Roller in his current design (wich has become his permanent look), you can tell I was just starting to fully draw because I gave him boots to avoid working on drawing the feet XD they were as much of a nightmare to draw as the hands, in the end I ditched some of the hyperforce stuff from the show and kept him with a look that was more his own, even if he's still a fan character of the show. In this version, Roller is now a grown up, several accidents left him scarred and he had to be rebuilt with strong copper for his metal parts, it became my take on Antauri's "Silver Monkey" by making Roller the "Copper Monkey" XD. This Roller being more experienced is now more confident and ready to take on the world while also regaining some of the happy spirit he had as a child!

So yeah, hope you guys like it! I want to mess around with Roller's older ideas a bit more in the future!
