Description Not so original, neither with the title or the scene, but meh...
Cullen / Surana from Dragon Age: Origins © BioWare

The Cullen romance mod [link] is a must for all female mage players
Cullen is not really my type, but he's so... unbearably nice, and angsty, and unfortunate... I felt an urge to spread the love

Sai + a little photoshop. I messed up Surana's hair and the armour but I simply don't know what else I can do with it. Advice, anyone?

This is very beautiful. I love the rich colors as well as the warm lighting, the bold shadows and the vivid textures.

Though we can only see her from behind, your Surana seems like she is very pretty.

Cullen is pretty awesome and I think his unrequited love for a female mage is one of the most tragic, touching, and memorable romances in the game.

An almost nonexistent romance, yet I agree, it is touching when you begin thinking about it. And thank you very much!

The almost nonexistent part is actually part of why I find it so memorable. Not just because it leaves most of the relationship to the imagination, but because of the reason they're not together in the vanilla game. It's not just because of external factors like rules forbidding a relationship, but internal factors like Cullen's sense of duty and devotion to the law-makers.

You can tell he loves the female mage very deeply and continues to love her for many years after (if DA2 is anything to go by) but he would never act on them because of his unwavering self-discipline and later his deep psychological scars. Even if he were to recover, Cullen is the type of man to sacrifice personal happiness to live up to the oath he swore and serve his god for the betterment of his community. It's hard not to admire, be annoyed with and feel sorry for him all at the same time.

Maybe I read too much into it, but that's why I like this couple.

Not at all, I understand very well everything you just said Honestly, it was such a relieve to see him save and sound in DA2! The DAO epilogue when you team with the mages (which I always do) left my heat uneasy

I agree! You feel so bad for him but you can't just slaughter everyone in the tower just because he's going through PTSD, but at the same time you feel awful that he ends up having a mental breakdown because you wouldn't humor him. (Then again, the other templars don't exactly help much since they keep him working with mages rather than reassigning him somewhere else to recover from his trauma.)

It's good to know he eventually recovers no matter the outcome. If you import the save where he goes nuts at the epilogue, it's even more impressive that he had the mental strength and willpower to overcome his scars enough to work with mages again and even become fair and compassionate toward them like he was in the first place. ^_^

I'd say it goes from a plot mistake (same thing that with the miraculous ressurection of Leliana and Anders if they die in DAO). Praise be to the Maker that BioWare decided to use Cullen in DA2!

Maybe robes?
I installed the mod that updated my textures, maybe that's the reason? (have never played as Amell)

I got it, that's a compensation for beeing an opressed race! Imagine: you are a mage, you are an elf, but at least you have a pretty robe!

hey did you know that the Vestment of the seer is the same for female mages be it human or elf, I just checked a few minutes ago I started and elven mage and put on the estment of the seer and it looks exactly the same, I felt like it was sort of a let down

That makes sense well at least now the female human mages can be jealous of the elven female mages for having prettier robes
