Description I'm gonna go ahead and post them all up. Hopefully that way, the next time I look for comments I'll get at least one that's positive.

Originally, the idea was for this to be a replacement for the Pokemon Trainer in Brawl, changing things up and spreading out the playable Pokes to more generations. But I don't know anymore. Having both might be too many for one series, but Pokemon is all about the huge cast anyhow.

On a side note, something bugs me about the way Grovyle's face turned out.

There would still be a trainer, of course. I just can't draw human Pokemon characters well.

-HOENN TRAINER-
Series: Pokemon
First Appearance: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire (2002)
Why I Picked Them: Oh dang! I already explained this part... Oh well. People like Blaziken and liek Mudkipz, so that's another factor I suppose.

-MUDKIP-
STANDARD: Bubble - Mudkip releases a blast of short-range bubbles; if an enemy is caught in the attack, they will be trapped inside of a bubble and float upwards for a bit. If the trapped player is attacked, the bubble will pop. Mostly for defensive purposes.

SIDE: Mud Slap - Mudkip sends a wave of mud along the floor, which not only damages enemies but slips them up as if they stepped on a banana peel.

UP: Surf - Works like Squirtle's Waterfall move.

-GROVYLE-
STANDARD: Giga Drain - If this attack hits, Grovyle will have its damage reduced by the amount the enemy's increases.

SIDE: Leaf Blade - Grovyle plants one of its arm "blades" in the ground and then charges forward, slicing through any opponents in his path. Stops when Grovyle reaches a ledge or a wall (I left out Razor Leaf to add variety and boost the differences between the Trainers).

UP: Leaf Storm - Grovyle leaps into the air and a leafy whirlwind appears where he was, which sucks in nearby enemies.

-BLAZIKEN-
STANDARD: Flame Kick - Tap B to kick the ground and send a wave of fire along the floor. Hold B longer to increase the distance that it travels.

SIDE: Brave Bird - Blaziken grabs the enemy, leaps into the air, and then piledrives them into the ground. This is a powerful attack, but Blaziken will also recieve recoil damage.

UP: Fire Spin - Works like Charizard's Fly move, but is a bit more useful as a recovery move.

-ALL-
DOWN: Pokemon Swap - Switches Pokemon in the order of Mudkip>Grovyle>Blaziken>Mudkip and so on.

FINAL SMASH: Triple Finish - Different than the Kanto Trainer's version, this has Blaziken attack to the right, Grovyle to the left, and Mudkip standing in the middle firing in the direction that more enemies are in. Of course, to balance things out, this is noticably less damaging than the Kanto Trainer's triple Finish.

Blaziken would be the best for Brawling (for obvious resons Fire-Fight Type XD)
Love your idea for one more Pokemon Trainer 8D

Why yes, Mudkip and Blaziken are quite popular, indeed!

I also really like Treecko and his evolutionary stages, too.

I would have had Marshtomp & Treecko instead, but this is for consistency and it makes for better movesets.

Exactly, and it makes sense.

That's a cool idea. I wish they did have a Hoenn trainer.
It's my favorite generation.

Thanks! Johto's my personal pref., but that's probably nostalgia.

That would work too, 'cept Blaziken can't fly. lol otherwise, they could all work the same way. ^^

I like the movesets. It would've added more variety if you changed the evolutionary/elemental forms a bit. You know, make it so that the weakest and fastest isn't a water-type, like squirtle.

I considered that, but I remembered that this way has Blaziken. XD

I suppose Blaizken is, like, ten times cooler than Sceptile or...whatever the hell mudkip's final form was.

Ah yes, a perfect Hoenn dream team. I can't say I'm too enamoured with Blaziken's moveset, but I am happy that it isn't simply a clone of Captain Falcon.
Ever since getting Sapphire i've been convinced that SSB Falcon is a Blaziken in a human costume...

I've been thinking about other pkmn teams in brawal, and I kind of wanted them to be swampert, combusken and treecko, but this works well too!
Are you considering doing a sinnoh or johto trainer?

RockoTheTaco In reply to Poke137 [2008-04-13 06:36:23 +0000 UTC]

Nope, just this one. This would make 10 Pokemon if they brought Mewtwo back, which they ought to.

Interesting idea, if only they had all the region sets on Brawl, but I guess doing so would have been too much work. Either way, just imagining on how these guys would work on Brawl was fun enough for me, honestly to me reading this was pretty interesting.

I also like the art reference, you drew them down pretty nicely, awesome job.

Well, I can't say I like it all that much but, a cool idea, I suppose.

I would like to say though, in terms of Blaziken's move set, Side B= Flare Blitz. Because that's one of those harmful moves is should be chargable and only becomes harmful at full power.

Up B= Sky Uppercut. Just seemed a little more appropriate I guess.

As for the Final Smash. Either go for a copy of the Kanto Pokemon Trainer's FS or, because the Hoenn pokemon are more melee fighters (not so much Mukip, but the other two definitely are) make a charge across the stage.
